Today Iβm sharing 10 classics to read this year. Hunker down with a hot cuppa, because Iβve got a bunch of classics to see us through the dark and cold winter. β¨βοΈπ
Aww! Our Clark hates baths too.
Well, now I feel awful! And youβre so going to believe me, but Halloweird was in the long list for my top 10. But this is why I hate ranking (and rating) books. Itβs misrepresentative. It makes it sound like all the others I read didnβt make the cut. Yes, I do take these things way too seriously. π
As well as talking about the top 10 best books I read in 2025 in a blog post, I also made a YouTube video about it. You can watch it here. β¬οΈ
Iβve finally narrowed down the top 10 best books I read in 2025. Among the list are newly republished fiction by women, mysteries, vintage childrenβs books, and a couple of wonderful new releases too. I wrote about them here. β¬οΈ
In todayβs video Iβm chatting about slow reading, slow living, conscious consumption, and getting myself organised (for once!). Perhaps it will inspire your own resolutions for the year ahead. β¨
Iβm sharing all the books I read in November and December. Grab a cuppa and letβs chat about our favourite subject! π©΅
Ha! Happy New Year, Johnny! π
One last video for the year! Thank you to everyone who spent the festive season with me. You helped to make my December so merry and bright. β¨
A new version of the final instalment in my Little Women reading vlogs. (This is the version that ISNβT missing the last 10 minutes. Whoops!) I have a lot of thoughts on this book, so you might want to put the kettle on. π
The Little Women reading vlogs continue today with part four. If all goes to plan, the fifth and final part should be available tomorrow 25 December. Happy Christmas! πβ¨β€οΈ
Iβm sharing my L.M. Montgomery collection, including all my copies of Anne of Green Gables. Grab yourself a cuppa, itβs a bit of a long one! βοΈππ
Grab a hot cuppa, and join me for a snowy weekend spent at home with my dog, Clark. βοΈ
Happy Saturday! And Happy Vlogmas Day 13! π
The Little Women reading vlogs continue today with part three! Sharing my favourite quotations and my reactions as I read Louisa May Alcottβs heartwarming American classic. πβ¨β€οΈ
Wasnβt it?! It was the first I had read by her. Made me want to read more.
A hardback edition of Ten Days of Christmas. 1950 edition with dustjacket. A girl stands in a winter landscape looking toward a large country house.
Re-reading this lovely Christmassy novel from 1950. Ten Days of Christmas by G B Stern. The first big family Christmas after WW2. The children want to do a play, there are quarrels, tensions and a complicated family. A shame it hasn't been reissued. ππ
Sounds wonderful! Someone alert the British Library! They republished another of hers, The Woman in the Hall. Maybe they would republish this one! π
They did! Her 1939 novel, The Woman in the Hall. Itβs so good!
Time for a cuppa and a cosy chat. Talking current reads and upcoming ones, knitting, and snow. So. Much. Snow! βοΈπβοΈ
For Vlogmas Day 11, I'm sharing my first bookshelf tour. And Iβm starting with the children's books! Grab a hot bevy and settle in for a cosy show-and-tell. π₯°πβ€οΈ
Grab a cuppa, I get chatty in this one! Iβm geeking about about Nancy Drew and her author, while showing off all the vintage mystery series books for children Iβve added to my collection recently. Happy Vlogmas Day 10! βοΈπβ€οΈ
Itβs day 9 Vlogmas! Iβm reading, chatting, and getting emotional about Little Women. This cosy classic by Louisa May Alcott is bound to fill you with festive spirit. πβ¨β€οΈ
Iβm sharing a very special book haul, particularly if youβre a Jane Austen fan. Happy Vlogmas Day 8! πππ
Happy Vlogmas Day 7! Find out which novels in my collection get my seal of approval for cosy, festive reading, and which ones donβt. β€οΈ
If there are any journalists, bloggers, students out there wanting to do a piece or some research on POSSESSED - the lost novel I discovered, please do get in touch, I think it's a very important work and a massive moment for the horror community.
Itβs day 6 of Vlogmas! Today, Iβm reading and chatting about Little Women. Letβs get festive and cosy, settle down with a cuppa, and appreciate Louisa May Alcottβs heartwarming American classic. ππβ¨
Itβs day 5 of Vlogmas! Today, Iβm reviewing all the books I read in my 5 Christmas mysteries in 5 days challenge. Oh, and sharing just how much I managed to read in 5 days, too. ππβ¨
Itβs day 4 of Vlogmas! I am feeling festive and getting cosy, hunkering down with a great mystery and my loyal dog, Clark. Come join us! ππβ¨
Itβs day 3 of Vlogmas! My challenge to read 5 Christmas mysteries in 5 days continues. Can I do it? Or is this slow reader deluding herself? Regardless, we are having a lot of festive fun while trying. ππβ¨
