Ignore the hyperbole all-round. It's outright offensive to say it's worse than AI slop - real people worked on this, the worst art in the world is better than AI - but it is not a masterpiece. It's serviceable enough for families, visually brilliant, and Mario fans will obviously really enjoy it.

In Rome's Museo di Neo Geo (a fictional museum of geology), Agent Epsilon raises here hands exultantly as she smiles. Museum Director Stefania Plinth stands behind her, looking shocked. The art is cartoony mid-century modern style with strong line art, bold colors (the background is all purple nd gold) and paper grain showing.

I played a little bit of Heroes of the Seven Islands and genuinely adore it. A super charming and engaging point & click RPG.

If you already own one, the other is discounted. And the Steam Spring Sale is happening. So the timing is suspiciously good.

Nah, that's just British English as well; where US English would use an em dash we'd typically use a spaced en dash.

Spaced em dashes are weird tho

Save 20% on Rhell: Warped Worlds & Troubled Times on Steam Create unique spells by combining magical runes to solve puzzles your way. Transform objects, manipulate time, and discover the mysteries of a world where everyone has vanished, leaving only 12 people...

Well not to be supportive wife on main, but my partner just released her game as a solo dev after working on it for about three years and did literally everything herself
Literally no excuse to use AI when there's plenty of tools out there to make what you want

Really really (rhell-y?) enjoyed Rhell – such a unique game, excellent puzzles, excellent art, excellent silliness...

It's all very creative and very smart, and makes you feel creative and smart* too!

Go play it!

*sometimes it makes you feel dumb
but that's just as fun

One month ago we launched Hermit and Pig on Steam!👴🏽🐷

The game was made by just the two of us over 5 years.

We wrote it, programmed it, drew it, composed the music, and somehow shipped a full game.

This pic's from launch day when it all got real🍄

I'm happy to announce that we've now reached 10,000 wishlists for SCOPECREEP!

When I started this idea in a game jam, I never thought I would make it this far. And it's all because of the support of all of you!

I can't thank you enough!

Apropos of something: It has long been my position that using your platform to make people aware of a tiny indie game they've never heard of before in order to tell them it's shit is just indecent.

"Hey! See this thing you wouldn't have seen otherwise?! It's not worth knowing about!"

Script excerpt re: the #1348ExVoto nb characters backlash. We can't let the loud minority of "anti-woke" (see: racist, sexist, transphobic) elements own the games space. They have to know it's just not accepted. I know from the comments—and from experience—that there'll be some vitriol. But fuck it.

This is the world of Indie games. You see a game that just came out a few weeks ago with reviews like this one and you've never heard of it nor heard anyone else speak of it and I love that. The link's below in case you're interested. It's at $7.99. #IndieGame

This just seems... bizarrely mean-spirited?

The headline doesn’t read great, and the article itself is even harsher. There were 3500 demos this next fest, hundreds packed with AI slop, but you’re telling me these seven are deserving of being singled out and ragged on? Why?

We can do better.

I owe a lot of my career to RPS journalists like John Walker and Alice Bell (John still supports my work). That’s why this piece is so disappointing. Not because I’m in it — but because it needlessly punches down at indie devs. You can do better.

Please retract it and apologise to the developers.
