WIP Installation! This has been giving me a hell of a time and it’s a lot of long work for little obvious payoff. Will be worth it hopefully though. It’s not true installation just yet, but that’s where it’s headed!

A dimly lit, small, cluttered artist studio with a painting on the wall. It’s fragmented into four panels from a cardboard box, depicting a reddish brown outline of a microraptor on a bright yellow-cream background. The cardboard has been slashed and dug into revealing the inner texture in multiple areas. The pose is agonized and warped, filling a role between cave painting and imprint.

Two paintings hanging on a wall one on top of the other with a 2 inch gap between them. They’re both oil paint over top cardboard. The top painting is referencing prehistoric plants and the bottom one, prehistoric shelled animals such as ammonites. They read as very abstract. The top one is brown and orange with bits of scale texture and blue. The bottom is rainbow at times with multiple swirls and complicated clusters of form. Both have been cut into, revealing the textured cardboard underneath. In some of these instances, aluminum wire is decoratively woven throughout.

These are what I have to show for my first semester! I was kinda iffy on posting them because they’re experimental and I’ve already moved on - taking the concepts I started here much further. The raptor cave painting/imprint in particular thrives in my studio posing with all of the debris.

Forget the cable management, nothing in there is properly secured or mounted. 😵‍💫

The outdoors is unsafe for them too! Your cat might think it wants to be outside, but there are hazards unknowable to it - nobody wants to lose their little guy to a car.

It’s not okay to let a dog roam around on its own just because it wants to, and it should be the same for cats.
