Context: Since the start of the new presidency, ICE activity has surged across the United States, with close to 50,000 people in ICE detention centers.

A detained US greencard holder's lawyers don't know where he is. They were told he was being held in one facility, yet when his wife went, she was told he was not there. (h/t @premthakker.bsky.social).
When reporting these facts in other contexts globally, we call this disappearance.

Okay so you know I like to remind everyone how the American immigration system has been cruel for a very long time. But loading people on flights to deport them to countries that they are not from, like Iranians to Panama, is not business as usual.

Derrick Bell's reminds us: The goal is DEFIANCE. Resist oppression, harass those who seek to harm us and our communities. We will not sacrifice Black & Brown people, Trans folks, immigrants, Disabled folks, and all of us at the intersections of multiple oppressions. Defiance is the way forward.

I hope that the ceasefire deal truly means an end to the vicious, murderous bombardment of Palestine and I also know that there are not enough ceasefire deals to cover the dead.
The United States supplied the weapons and Israel used them.

I'm reading news of an imminent ceasefire deal. I'm praying that the violence truly stops, that we don't see drawn-out death by another name. I pray that we all stay alert and awake regardless of what comes next.
None of us are free until Palestine is free and a ceasefire is not freedom.

BREAKING: The biggest strike against Amazon in U.S. history is happening right now.
The Teamsters are picketing facilities across the country.
The union has organized workers at 10 Amazon locations AND they're putting up picket lines at hundreds of other Amazon sites nationwide.
