It’s not good for me either - if I were to try and upgrade from my starter house I can no longer afford to leave it for other first homebuyers. And I have to pay a huge amount more stamp duty to move. So basically even though houses are worth more, no one can afford to leave them.

I bought a small house 5 years ago in Perth and the house price increases are nuts. In the last month the value went up by $30k. That means if you were saving for a 20% deposit, your savings target went up $6k in a month.

Totally unsustainable.

PSA: People talk about bad influences but they never tell you to avoid the retired ladies on your street who think champagne on a Monday is a good idea. HIDE! They don’t know it’s a work night! They don’t even know the day of the week.

That’s a major violation of ARC rules, I was just reading them. Ok for use in writing but not reviewing.

I teach a pretty hardcore masters unit on how to ID animals, with peeps like @idrnik.bsky.social. The students are so impressed I know all the characters in the key for each species. Folks, secretly, we’ve been using the same individual bugs for four years. I don’t know the key, I know the bug.
