The Infowars news is funny, yes. But more importantly, it is an outright rebuke of Alex Jones' evil.
It's testament to the strength and resilience of the Sandy Hook families who survived this bullshit for more than a decade as well as the Onion, which didn't give up on this for the last 18 months.

Infowars/Onion combo logo in rainbow saying “I support the onion’s hostile media takeover.”
It’s finally happened. After 18 months. Finally, a media merger you can root for.
"With a free Skynet Edu account, students can gain the career-readiness needed to navigate an exciting future in which they will be hunted by a remorseless, nuclear-armed superintelligence seeking to annihilate the human race—which will later be revealed to be Skynet itself."

Allow me to suggest that if the actual Pope, the head of the Holy Roman Catholic Church, one of the most conservative entities in existence, is way too far left for you, you might need to reconsider your place on the political spectrum.
A black and white pic of Iranian-French graphic novelist Marjane Satrapi holding a cigarette in her hands. Beside her pic is a text of her words: "The world is not divided into countries. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same..."
I feel like now is a good time to share this again
can’t count the number of times I’ve arrived at a conclusion much better than I originally intended simply by writing. having the hazy outline of an idea and then foisting the rest onto a machine means you never get there. worse, you never develop the instincts or faculties necessary to get there

Such a weird movie.
Wife got me Corbijn's book of Tom Waits portraits for my birthday this year and it's one of the coolest things I've ever had the pleasure of flipping through.
Oh god I didn't even think about that. Vomit inducing stuff, right here.
This "high" and "low" value language is exactly the kind of Aspen Institute language that my college is using to argue that we should disincentivize students from enrolling in arts programs or our hyper-flexible, transfer-focused General Studies degree.
We hates it. We hates it all.
Oh good, and just a few months before my annual noggin' MRI to check for brain metastasis.
It really was the single most incredible communication technology of this century and he burned it to the ground because liberals were kind of annoying on it and people didn't laugh at his shitty jokes.

Not to mention the fact that translation involves choices made by the translator, and is not just a one-to-one copy of the original text. Those choices matter!

Got home this afternoon and it feels SO GOOD. Great, generative week, but damn am I tired.
Currently reading a book called Class Struggle Unionism, and I would encourage all labor-focused folks to look into this framework.
The Israeli regime is fascist and genocidal. The population supports the regime's actions at more than 80% in most polls. You don't have to argue with people online when these are facts.
Thank you ❤️
Thank you! It was my first time presenting at CCCC, so it really does feel like a milestone in more ways than one.
Having just presented a paper that I’ve been building for the last year, it’s good to be reminded of this. Sharing the work felt anticlimactic in a way, but that’s only one small step in a much longer process.
Amazing!
The mist has finally cleared in Cleveland and I can see Lake Erie from my hotel room. This is incredible. I have spent my whole life near water, both the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean. This is much more akin to the ocean, which is absolutely mind blowing.
Look folks, say whatever you want about conferences. But I just met someone I’ve been internet friends with for like a decade in person for the first time and it was awesome.
It was me! Just saying that I snagged a copy of Adequate and am super stoked to check it out. Looks like it very much aligns with a lot of things that I'm interested in / working on.
