People think they are nailing it when they talk about how they use Ai with their work, Claude this, workflow that, so much effort in building an impressive sounding combo of models and processes. It honestly makes me think you're an incompetent, and worse, one who thinks they're the shit. Bad combo

And the map of the streetcars in Chicago was insane. You could pretty much get anywhere without a car.

I Played 'The Boys Are Back in Town' on a Bar Jukebox Until I Got Kicked Out The boys were back in town, but I was out of the bar, because they asked me to leave.

on the 50th anniversary of the release of The Boys Are Back in Town I'm morally obligated to share my favorite story of all time

Again: for any big liberal donor who wants to funnel millions into fixing this country's politics, the ROI on buying any struggling paper and simply tasking it with doing real reporting on local news is vastly higher than the same $$ given to some group that does mass ad buys every election year.

This is going to make me homicidal. I am convinced the reason is to get people to accidentally click it--it is where the send button used to be when composing an email reply--and up adoption numbers

Chatbots may not be intelligent, but using them seems to affect the cognitive ability of their users. Studies have already found that reliance on chatbots leads students to to perform worse on tests because they’re not retaining as much of the information. Those that used chatbots were also less likely to engage in critical thinking, with researchers finding they “consistently underperformed at neural, linguistic, and behavioral levels” compared to peers that did not rely on the technology. A paper that included researchers from Microsoft even found that use of generative AI can “result in the deterioration of cognitive faculties that ought to be preserved.”

That’s bad enough, but then you consider the even more serious potential implications. Over the past year, we’ve been seeing an escalating series of stories about people experiencing mental breakdowns after developing a dependence on chatbots. Some have been institutionalized, others have disappeared, and some have used the chatbot to get support in ending their lives — occasionally doing so successfully.

As Altman talks about how ChatGPT will increase people’s intelligence, research and reporting shows the opposite: dependence on chatbots actually hurts people’s cognitive skills and reduces their ability to think critically. It can even threaten their mental health.

Why are people acting like the fate of California rested on one white man who only lead in one poll so far in a field of 10 candidates, some of whom are completely decent choices.

Just let go of your sex pest special boy and move on, there's 9 other candidates for you to choose from.
