Glad someone said this. I've also noticed that whenever there's a big day like this, the BBC Political Editor tends to make his report about the drama of his day and how he went about reporting the news. Would much prefer him just to report the news.

@mattmaiocco.bsky.social @jenniferleechan.bsky.social just wanted to thank you for another great season of 49ers Talk. As a UK based fan, it is invaluable to me, as well as being very entertaining! Hoping for a London game next season, although I suspect it might be overseas but not UK!
Same! I got the word without actually knowing what it meant!
really enjoyed all the episodes so far! I went to leave a review on Apple Podcasts but there's no option to do that yet. I'm guessing because you are so new
This is my 40th season following the 49ers from the UK and honestly this is one of the most enjoyable. Just the way they are battling against adversity and the spirit of the whole squad. Total admiration for them this year. Incidentally you and Jennifer are adding greatly to the enjoyment too
You have no idea how much I needed to hear "the first thing you learn is how strong you can be when you have to" this morning. Thank you!
@micarlson.bsky.social Just wanted to wish you all the best Mike. I've listened to every NFL podcast you've been on for many, many years now and I even used to read you in First Down. You've added so much to my NFL enjoyment for decades. Stay strong, you're the best.
It is definitely my favourite album of all time. I really doubt that will ever change. A total masterpiece
.. along with all the mystery about Kevin’s whereabouts at the time I had really built up it’s importance in my mind. I wasn’t disappointed. I had never heard anything like it. I played it over and over again and I still feel so sad when The Waltz fades out. Just wanted it to go on forever…
and phoned them on the off chance they had one. When I tracked one down I had to send a cheque and wait for it to clear before they’d send the album. It was the vinyl and I can remember listening to it on big headphones and being so excited. It had a sort of revered status amongst Dexys fans and…
I got into Dexys in 1996 and only heard about this album through the Keep on Running fanzine. The lengths I had to go to to listen to it would be laughable to youngsters today! It was non existent in record shops. I remember a Saturday when I went through every second hand shop in Record Collector..
And a fantastic article on Mickey Newbury. So happy that he is finally getting recognition. My mum and dad were huge fans and ‘I came to hear the music’ was the first song I ‘heard’ as a newborn baby! Dad died last year. He’d have loved this article
That is pretty shocking
It’s absolutely terrible. There’s no justice. You’ve done so much good with that page. Anyone would only have to look at it to see that
Have they given any reasoning at all
Very sad
I ended up buying this boxset despite initially saying there was no way I would. The Mojo review played a very big part in that. The boxset arrived today and I am now very happy with my decision, so thanks!
Rory seemed to be under the misapprehension that he was conducting a job interview. I thought he was very rude
this is a great issue... the Scott Walker, Springsteen and Mickey Newbury articles are all excellent
Mickey Newbury content is very welcome!
Absolutely
I thought there was no way I was paying £200+ for Tracks 2. Not so sure after reading that review!
And just you wait til the Universal theme park opens!
@mattmaiocco.bsky.social @jenniferleechan.bsky.social thank you both for all the draft coverage this weekend. I’ve been a uk based Niner for 40 years and your podcasts in recent years has greatly enhanced my enjoyment of following the team
there was talk of a tour-only album. Was there any sign of that?
@writerkcampbell.bsky.social Hi, I'm reading This Bright Life at the moment, having loved Paper Cup. Finding it incredibly moving. Every single character is so well written. Truly wish I could write like that :)
thank you for mentioning this. I did not know of this artist at all. Listening now and it is quite something.
