Currently doing some marking. A reminder to everyone involved in archives and collections: digitisation is not preservation. If I digitise a box of records and put the files on a USB stick I haven't preserved a thing. It's all about what you do with the files post-digitisation. #archives #digipres
Japanese things I have randomly learned #2: the Japanese counter for films, video tapes, cassette tapes, etc is 本 which is the counter used for long, cylindrical things.
Japanese things I have randomly learned #1: The Japanese title for Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is 明日に向って撃て (Ashita ni Mukatte Ute) which means 'Shoot for Tomorrow', which is such a fun and suitable translation (and, thankfully, not a transliteration of Butch Cassidy and...)
I must admit I enjoy the ink stains. Wear them with pride!

The Traitors finale is so big that the BBC Ten O’Clock News is at 10.25pm on Friday.
The finale episode starts at 8.30pm, directly followed by Uncloaked on the same channel.
Whenever I am asked what my favourite movie is, I never have an answer. But recent devastating events have made me think of Chinatown and it might be a strong contender for my #1. Watch it. It is a damn near perfect script. And it is about water.
(No real spoilers) An interesting thing that has come out of #Squidgame2 is the ear worm that is the Mingle game song - as referenced to the show - or rather, 둥글게둥글게 (dunggulgae dunggulgae), a traditional Korean children’s song that has gained an unexpected new group of English-speaking fans.
Interesting to note international producing partners of Better Man: Sina Studios (China), Facing East (described as 'Asian, European and US-based') and Film Australia and Vicscreen (director Michael Gracey is Australian) - for a biopic about beloved UK icon Robbie Williams. #Transnational, anyone?
