Finally found a Heron!

I took a bunch of pics, then moved for a closer look, which he didn't like.

If you were around Dow's Lake between 5/5:30 today and saw a Heron flying majestically over the water, you're welcome.

I got to watch him fly under the bridge and off against the glittery water.

In case anyone is wondering, it took less than 18 hours after emailing Miller Waste for a replacement recycling bin, to have a new one delivered.

I feel like that's a pretty good turn around.

Best part, the exchange happened within an hour of pick up.

A large number of balloons floating in the sky, most tied together, some floating singularly.

This is why I hate balloons.

I don't think people realize this: if you show up at one of these drop-offs on a bike, you're treated like a VIP and you get to skip the line.

Unfortunately, they're not usually in very convenient locations.

And make sure you know what they accept, so you don't haul stuff you can't leave.

Fairness?? Transit fare evaders pay a bigger fine than drivers who don't pay for parking.
A one way transit fare is twice the price as weekend parking at City Hall.
Roads get widened while transit gets cut.

Autowa is not interested in making anything more fair for people outside of cars.

It's happened to me more than once, unfortunately.
I've learned to stay well back from male riders.

Hork a loogie without first making 100% sure you are the only person around for miles.

Yanno tho, at least the flexis scare the drivers over for fear of scratching paint. I use the road a lot in the summer, esp during Jazzfest when I'm trying to get to a shift but I want the scenic route. So much easier than bobbing and weaving around people.
