Go read "Bold But Not Too Bold" and "Cabaret in Flames" by Hache Pueyo (@hachepueyo.bsky.social). Both horror-adjacent.

The former is a lush, vibe-heavy gothic sapphic romance/mystery. The latter is a cannibal mystery/romance that's more plot-focused and political.

Both are truly superior works.

Witch Hunter Robin. I was obsessed with that show. The vibes were impeccable.
Also idk if Pete and Pete was all that niche, but give me that good surrealist suburbia. I can make it even weirder <3

I completely understand. Even if it's not my fave it's still buttressed by the fact that Somebody made this, in spite of everything around us! They found the spirit of creation! I gotta respect the hustle if nothing else

Gender should literally just be a common thing that people *should* examine in order to have a fullness of life, even if nothing massively changes. It should be as common as developing a fashion style or a music taste. Deconstruction of societal imprint, no matter how “far” you go, is freedom.

TRUST TEACHERS. Two words that, if people actually widely believed them, would utterly reform education in this country.

Two papers laid one on top of the other. The bottom has a distinctly greyish tone, while the top sheet is more ivory.

I don't like how grey the new 'Natural White' Saunders Waterford is, compared to the beautiful ivory of their older stock. The difference is so startling, I'm quite seriously disappointed.

All my favourite paper manufacturers have changed their recipes for the worse. I could cry.

imagine how fucking bad it's going to be when AI toddlers get a bit older, imagine how absolutely fucked their worldview is going to be, their perception of other human beings or humanity in general

A limited color drawing of the character Laudna from Critical Role. Laudna is sitting and weaving a chain of pink flowers which trail down her body to surround her puppet Pâté, who is a rat with a raven's skull for a head. Laudna is a gaunt undead woman with black and white hair and bulbous doll like eyes

so maybe one day i'll write the actual post about how literal thinking has lead to self rejecting out of slush piles for years but today I wrote about the decision to self publish because connecting with readers is more important to me than anything else. #books

Boy was playing and i overheard "oh no. I wanted to go to norwescon, but somebody died. Under my Volkswagen." So he's got a bright future as a suspiciously bereaved widow in a Sam Spade novel

This video was so good. I had no term for misery memoirs when i worked in the bookstore but man i really could have used it. Didn't know that the satanic panic could get crazier than what i already knew and boy was i wrong!

hey i’m being real fucking serious right now

call your reps. this is insane. he already had thousands of jobs removed from the us fish and wildlife service. dismantling the us forest service will have a devastating impact on habitat protections.

We lose again: Windham-Campbell Prize manqué Was going to post this on Substack, but they don't let you indent blocks of text.     Today’s insanely long installmen...

This broke my heart and made me laugh today. No one ever really makes art for a living. When you make art for a living, what you actually mean is you answer emails and do promo for a living. The art itself occupies increasingly atomized periods of time.
