I've built a socioeconomic system that depends on everyone to do useful work and act ethically except the people at the top, who get unimaginable rewards for being antisocial frauds and criminals. And I think it will stand the test of time
A lot of the people who aren't here? They're on Mastodon! Totally different vibe, and I like both, so I'm both places.
Don't gotta be just one place. You can be more than one thing.
"Players don't care about the polycount/dcs/.. "
There, maybe now they see the issue.
They will never see the polycount, but the will damn well notice if it's "too low" or "too high"
I hear "players don't care about the code" fairly regularly and that is true in the abstract but not in practice. They can absolutely feel it and I'm not talking about just when stuff catastrophically breaks
Do spelling mistakes matter when the one reading is not a person anyway? As far as I have noticed, many of those using LLM to write mails are also the ones using the now ubiquitous "let AI summarize" features of outlook & co

Gosh, for feeling like such a slow burn at the start, #1000xResist really managed what hasn't happened to me in a hot while: I feel the urge to continue playing it asap.
The fact that "being taxed on a wealth that would take most people dozens of generations to gather" is "the scariest thing she's ever seen" means the world isn't scaring millionaires and billionaires nearly enough yet.
OpenAI: We’re burning money like the Joker. A miracle needs to happen for us to turn a profit
Microsoft: Please please use our AI systems, we’re teetering on the edge here
Anthropic: I wonder what’ll kill us first: lawsuits, regulations or model collapse
Media and universities: AI is here to stay
The fact that Chris went and got someone with an actual phonograph to record a video for the YouTube version of an audio drama that doesn't even need visuals tells you something about the absurd amounts of energy and love we've put into this project.
Disney's new CEO, whose pay package is worth nearly $45M, just announced 1,000 layoffs.
Reminder that Disney paid an effective federal income tax rate of ZERO in 2025 and aims to buy back $7B of its own stock in 2026.
This is what corporate greed looks like.

Webpage reading “Vance Says the Pope Should Be More Careful When Talking About Theology The vice president, who is Catholic, took issue with Pope Leo XIV's statement that disciples of Christ are "never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs."

IDK why that tiger's got me enraptured

legality is a government's projection of a social contract. Different governments have different legalities.
Ie LGBTQ content may be legal here but not there, may be legal today but not tomorrow.
You probably don't want this as your argumentative foundation.
Thank you everyone again!

Then again, AIM COREs wording implies that apple said they were blocked - which apple never did (that I can find) actually say, they kinda gave the finger.
Barely days old and this well is already full of mud..
Apples stance seems to be "You're free to apply but we don't have to transfer you because as per bargaining agreement, no stores opened on that radius within that time frame"
While applicable, the agreement is certainly not blocking apple from transferring.
Article 22 - STORE RELOCATION AND/OR CLOSING A. In the event that Towson Store #R063 relocates within a 50 mile radius of its current location, the Employer agrees to comply with all legal requirements regarding the effects of its decision under the National Labor Relations Act ("the Act"). B. In the event that Towson Store #R063 closes, for any new store that opens within a 50 mile radius of its current location within 18 months of the closure, the Employer will offer all prior Towson bargaining unit members who qualify the opportunity for employment prior to hiring external employees. C. If a prior Towson bargaining unit member was subject to a formal Misconduct or Documented Coaching at the time Towson Store #R063 closed or relocated, that discipline will remain in place for that employee at the new location
I actually found a pdf of the bargaining agreement.
Its in article 22.

Quote from Apples (linked) statement:
"Towson employees will be eligible to apply for open roles at Apple in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement."
Quote from the Unions response
"Apple's claim that the collective bargaining agreement prevents relocation is simply false"
