Comic of Shalem Arknights listlessly rambling. The text is arranged in a kind of flowchart with no clear single reading order. Well, our relationship is... complex, to say the least. No, sorry, that isn't quite right... His relationship to me is fairly straightforward, all things considered. He would enjoy and appreciate my continued presence in his life. He has not given me need to speculate on his feelings towards me. To be specific, it is my feelings towards him that are complex. Insofar I possess such a thing as feelings that are my own, and insofar there is such a thing as "I" who could possess such feelings, of course. He is... I ave always considered him my best friend. We grew up together. Our childhood was... troubled. I have no memory of a life without him. We are both irrevocably shaped by the Crimson Troupe, after all. That is to say, I do not exist outside context of him. That is not metaphor, it is the truth. It is as true as anything about me can be. Which is not much, of course, but I digress. My past and present are both inextricably tied to his. Everything regarding me has to do with him. But although I do not exist beyond him, the reverse does not apply to him in turn. He enjoys my company, but he does not need it. My existence is of no true consequence to him. He is my friend, I love him, I want to be with him... Not once have my actions done anything to change the trajectory of his life. I hate him, I want to lash out at him, I want him to understand that he hurt me... Even if such sentiments are indeed mine, wouldn't anything I feel towards him be little more than the self-preservation instinct of something that has no existence of its own?
