Hot people wear respirators. If you wanna glow up, it's never too late to start masking up again! 🥰✨️

With an anti-science conspiracy theorist leading the US Department of Health and Human Services, preventative action is critical to protecting your health and the health of your community.

A good place to start would be getting back into the practice of regularly wearing a mask.

If you make art (any art! Not just visual), no matter how big your audience or if you think you're "successful" or "enough", you are giving people the energy to get through another day.

You're part of the reason folks have an easier time holding on.

Keep creating!! Your art matters!!!

Disabled People are the Canaries in the Coal Mine When it comes to natural disasters, pandemics, or disruptions to "normal" life, disabled people are proverbial canaries. We get hit harder and faster than others. Why aren't we factored into plans?

Being non-disabled doesn’t mean you won’t suffer the catastrophic impacts of Covid or climate change. It doesn’t mean that supply chain issues or medication shortages won’t cause you harm. It just means it'll take longer before you feel the pain of these events

If your diversity efforts (in activism, reading, whatever) don’t include people with disabilities, they’re incomplete. We are the one marginalized group anyone can join at any time but we are frequently forgotten or ignored.

We live in a society where disabled people are disproportionately harmed.

So even if you're wanting to maintain how things are now, you're essentially just advocating for more harm.

We should want it better for all compared to the past...

If you’re still masking & taking Covid precautions - thank you.

If you stopped - it’s not too late to start again. There are people who will help you.

If you’re covid cautious & dealing with an infection - it’s not your fault. The system is failing us.

By making the effort you protected others.

Ableism looks like building a world that doesn’t consider people with disabilities, then blaming them for not fitting in. It's the constant belittling, the exclusion, the 'inspiration' label slapped on them for existing, and the refusal to make basic accommodations because it’s 'too much effort.

feeling sentimental abt this photo of me @ 9 yrs old I’d never seen until today. I had awful self esteem & always tried to hide my tooth gap in photos. I never realized it was so cute when I was a child. 😢

CDC infection control body rejects the science on airborne transmission HICPAC continues to stonewall efforts to evolve infection control guidance to match updated information about COVID and other common viruses.

In 2021, COVID was shown to be fully airborne. Yet for years, hospitals have failed to upgrade infection control measures. Bodies like the WHO and CDC are leaving HCW and patients in danger by failing to match recommendations to the science.
