If you have a green signal, you have the right of way to enter the intersection to make a left turn, so long as you yield to oncoming traffic. It's ironic that you are so impatient about pedestrians but will willingly and needlessly sit through multiple signal cycles to make a left turn.
If a driver making a left turn enters the intersection on a green but cannot complete the turn until the signal is red, I don't crash into them just because my signal turned green. I wait until I have a green signal AND the intersection is clear. A pedestrian has the same right of way on their green
If each lane is 11' that adds up to nearly 100' of distance to be crossed. Average walking speed is 4.6 ft/s which makes for a 21 second crossing time on that distance. Up to 50% of pedestrians will be slower than the average walking speed. 9 seconds of additional time is not unreasonable.
Drivers and pedestrians take turns at signalized intersections. This all started because you said pedestrians aren't entitled to take their full "turn" because the signal phase is 30 seconds, and you feel that's too long. You're the one being disrespectful of other people's time.
Believe it or not, everyone who drives is also a walker! How else do you get to your car and from your car to your destination?
Walking is by definition the least privileged form of transportation because it's the default. If you have no other resources or wealth to procure alternative transportation, walking is how you will get around.
People walking absolutely have all the same responsibilities as anyone else.
If you're consistently feeling impatience behind the wheel because signalized intersections are making you late, you're not leaving early enough. The fault for your impatience lies with your decision, not the walk signs.

The thing is: EVs will only continue to get cheaper, gas will only become more expensive as oil becomes more scarce. EV battery materials are largely recyclable at the end of useful life, oil extraction for gas production is a perpetual process because you destroy the product when you use it.
