I think that most of these people who make AI images and claim that it's art, doesn't realize how disrespectful it is towards people who actually spend time and effort to learn how to make something by hand. At least admit that it's not the same at all.

I still stand by what I said, it lacks the process, no matter what it's trained on.
And using it for inspiration is different, you're still making the piece yourself.

It's still trained off of stolen art, I don't care how much or how little it is, it shouldn't be a thing at all.

I'm genuinely sorry to hear that, but that just doesn't change the fact that it lacks humanity. Besides, it's trained off of stolen art, so it could never create something entirely original and new, which is partially what art is about.

But we do agree that it's not the same at all, right? You guys just have an idea but don't actually execute it yourselves. It's the same as if I commissioned an artwork from an artist, I wouldn't be able to claim that I made that piece of art myself.

I really don't think it is. Art is about the process. When I draw I think about every detail and plan out exactly where what goes, with an AI image you don't get that. It lacks the soul that makes art art. AI is not just another tool, it's a replacement.

Sorry to drop into you guys' conversation, but is this satire? I'm not trying to hate, I just feel a little disrespected as someone who uses time and effort to learn how to draw, that this can somehow be called art. And you guys make it seem like it's at all on the same level as what we do.
