I think #dancers are some of the few people who will voluntarily sign up for an activity that causes a lot of physical pain and is extremely challenging, then waddle home after class while grimacing, then immediately sign up to do it again asap for fun 😅😅🫣

We were working on our Butterfly in #poledance class today. I almost did it! But it is hella terrifying to know that if your knee slips, you might hug the floor at speed... 😬😱

(Also, my inside thighs feel like someone put acid on them omg)

Omg, I love #poledance, I love my teacher, but all is pain and walking to the bus is torture. I think I've got burn marks on all sides of my legs, both inside, front, back, side, up and down. And in the armpits.

Omg, I managed to beat my nemesis, the chair spin into submission today. Fuck yeah! I love my teacher, goddammit, he's awesome.

Also, differences between typical feminine and masculine dance style? I want to look less femme and it irks me that I can only learn "girlie style" in most studios

My biggest problem is having no grip/ strength so I can't learn certain moves (chair spin! Ugh!). My legs are strong from ballet, but my teacher assumes strong arms/ weak legs so I struggle a lot in class with moves everyone else can do but me 🫤 but can do standing crucifix for ten minutes np
