I give the w11 partition couple more weeks.

I had experience with Linux before, mainly to run servers and stuff but never as a main, desktop PC. Of course it's annoying to try to figure out what's the difference between x11 and wayland but it's part of learning process and acclimatization.

It's 10 days since I switched to CachyOS from w11 and man, it's great! I don't want to be full on evangelist but I'm enjoying myself. The games I play gained FPS (arc raiders, cs2) and everything is just so much faster. Start menu doesn't take 3 seconds to start and of course terminal is where it is

With this, I'm using a code editor with no AI so it's all free range code. When I finish the course, I will be ready to go through to the next step.

Building the API for
- spawning servers
- adding mods to your server
- auth
- payments

Learn Go with Tests | Learn Go with tests

Instead of straight away starting building the Go backend, I have decided to start with quii.gitbook.io/learn-go-wit... to get some fundamentals under my belt and don't just hack away on the problem, inevitably reaching for LLM help.

I would rather do it the other way - I write it, AI reviews.

I'll try to use less AI to get through this because I think that's why my day job is lacking the excitement I used to do when I was just writing free range code.

Of course it's not no ai mode but it won't be 1st try with ai and me reviewing it.

I know there are millions of them online but I'm not doing it for the money or it becoming a business but if it works out I don't see why not.

I'm gonna document my journey here as I progress.

I'm feeling a bit bored with my day job and want to pick up a big project, maybe learning a new language.

So I was thinking about learning Go to get better in backend while building a game server hosting service.

Just tried vibe coding for a week.

I wish the cursor subscription came with a bottle of gin so I can get plastered because this was literally my worst work experience ever.

Now you made me thing about The Game, did I lose as well?

I don't know when was the last time I used the `function` keyword instead of just `const hello = () =>`

I have now read countless articles and still don't see the point.

Can someone give me a reason that's not just hoisting? Like when did you actually need this?

Then their build will fail and they will have to manually do the changes. (Or like npm run lint). However, this wasn't an issue before, everyone just uses a formatter.

For me, formatter and linter are the same thing on different paths of a development journey.

Formatter lives in your ide (like format on save)

Linter runs in CI and if it fails, the build fails.

Essence? If the whole company is using the same rules no one can complain about code style on a PR. If you do, create linter update ticket
