A really bad result for both hull and Leicester. Tigers out of playoff spots, foxes relegated. Really fun game though, with both teams desperate to win, felt like the ref should just have played next goal wins at the end

I can’t see how any manager with any clout at all sees Chelsea as somewhere they want to go. Even lampard. No control, no time, total chaos.

Coventry must seem like a more stable option? If he does well, he gets another shot at the PL. But if he fails at Chelsea, where next?

I recommend Leicester vs hull…

This is why (one of the reasons) it was always stupid to think of it as a 9-point lead. Because if we ever had a 9-point lead, we now have a 3-point one.

Just to add (and knowing that my personal and professional biases shape this); there are very few players in the world I’d rather be out there for my team in the crucial moment, with bat or ball. Call it clutch, call it calm, call it mentality… she’s got it. And that counts in a World Cup

Good post. I was expecting to come here and have to defend deepti, but your conclusion is pretty spot on - she’s woefully out of form, but still on par with the alternatives and with experience and mentality. That there’s a conversation shows how off colour she’s been, but you’ll still pick her!

Ok. Maybe a lot less than 80:20 after that over

Was about to say 80:20, but that was not a clever leave...

Yeah, it felt slightly poorly worded, as you said. I didn't really think you meant to compare them, per se, which is why it jolted me!

Think you've just compared platforming a far-right anti-semite to letting a Jew write in a Jewish paper...

The JC is so right wing it happily platforms anti-semites on the far right.

It should not be seen as a legitimate mouthpiece of our community, now, or ever again.

We aren't up 3 with a game in hand, we're up 3 and they have a game in hand.

But yes, probably.

Alexander Isak has more Premier League starts, appearances and minutes this season than Kai Havertz.

1 day ago 86 18 3 3

Kai Havertz had five shots yesterday.

Viktor Gyökeres has had more than four shots in one Premier League game this season.

Being the better finisher is useless if you're not good enough at getting on the end of things.

This is 100% the right thing.

Different scale, but we were discussing this tonight - putting football emotions away for child’s wellbeing isn’t easy, but it’s also not even a decision; you just do it.

It’ll be hard, but you’ll be back in less stressful times

Everyone is allowed opinions. He had many I agree with. This isn’t one of them!

They aren’t sacking Arteta, and if they did it would be silly.

re: Kai

In the league, that was the second first-half open-play goal by an Arsenal striker all season.

The other was Merino vs Brentford.

If you're ruing near-misses for his second/third against City, so am I.

If you're really blaming him: what.

Should start every game at #9 from here on.

If you told me before the match that the difference would be one team converted its big chances and the other team didn’t, I would know the result.

Today they were absolutely at the level. Played city even away. Against Bournemouth we were poor, but absences…

Don’t think we were really second best. Even game, we had the better chances largely. Draw would have been fair

2 days ago 0 0 1 0

Sure. But that isn't how it works. We have dropped too many bad, bad points. Wolves from 2 up. Chelsea against 10. Brentford. Forest.

We had the chance to be out of sight, and that we aren't is unlucky and bad. We haven't done enough to make our luck.

2 days ago 0 0 0 0

Maybe. They could drop points in any of their 6 remaining games, tbh. It's been that sort of season.

One good week and the whole thing shifts again.

I am much less upset about today than I was last weekend, or the weekend before. Bournemouth was a dreadful performance. Southampton was a missed opportunity to change the narrative.

This was, basically, unlucky.

Snater sitting there, with 9 overs 2/15 like... anyone going to throw me the ball? They do, he gets a wicket in 2 balls. That partnership might hurt (but probably not)

Throw in Saka too, and who knows. Timber would help too.

It's been a really bad few weeks, but this season isn't over.

I disagree. We had little enough control as it was. We'd never have touched the ball with Ode off!

Martinelli was the wrong move, but that's hindsight.

In the end, though, we simply had the chances and didn't take them. Gave up little, got punished.

Of all the takes, this is the wrongest

If we play at that level for 8 more games, we have every chance of making it the best season in the club's history.

Let's focus on that.

In the mean time, I'm going to go and spend some time with my family and try not to think about football.

2 days ago 12 0 1 0

Ok. Breathe. It isn't over. We are back to playing properly, two weeks too late.

If we win all our games, we'll probably win the title. We may need to play some attacking football - that's ok, this team needs that.

Today is a gut punch, but we could and should have won. We're ok.
