I used to see posts from around Haliburton where people would be looking for their missing cat and I could only think, awe geez! π

It'll be there in no time! π
Happy belated birthday Kevin! ππ₯³
I've seen them a couple times in winter, I always find it exciting
We see these fairly often, I've only seen its larger cousin the Fisher once... It was a bit intimidating!
I still get excited when I see one, this was the first time I've spotted one on the deck.
I imagine they could be, but we've never had a problem.
Red squirrels πΏοΈ on the other hand! π‘
Washing dishes at the cabin, I noticed movement on the deck through the kitchen window. I moved over to get a better look through the sliding doors, nice to have a little visitor!

Looks wonderful!
We're dry here, but the creeks between lakes are all moving very fast! π
That has to be rough! π

Bright sun shining across a lake shielded by a coniferous tree
Finally, the ice is on its way out. It won't be much longer now! π

An older, but reasonably solid outhouse on a cabin lot in the Algonquin Highlands.
Out for my neighborhood watch (Nosey neighbor tour) checking on cabins in the area. Mostly looking for damages from falling trees or limbs. This property hasn't been used for many years, the outhouse is still in decent shape.

I came up to the cabin prepared, we pieced together a simple small gas generator and battery bank combo that will keep the fridge and freezer going. π
We're high and dry, the Folks down in Minden are having a rough go of it though! π
Power restored, the women and men of Hydro One do an excellent job! β‘π

It's time for those recovery preparedness lessons to kick in, and remember the humble teachings of Red Green!
Sweet deal, you got the 25Β’ and you're still around to tell the tale... win/win! π

Ice is retreating from the shoreline in the Algonquin Highlands of the Great White North.
Soon the bufflehead will be on the lake in large numbers as they migrate to their summer breeding grounds.
It's a sunny 17Β°C right now, figured I'd get some exercise and help this melt faster! π₯΅
It's great to see folks standing up to a bully!
(I dislike bullies)π
It was a lucky find a few years ago on Costco clearance. Burning the little table top fire pits inside has been great. π
Wood pellets in the little table top fire pit burn for about an hour, and no sparks so if you're careful can be used on a deck.
Not yet, I actually shoveled some snow off the deck today to make room for a chair.
Thank you, we were happy to find it... it has worked out well! π₯
A bit of light rain, it still felt nice to sit out for a bit though.
