Glad he's okay-ish, and glad he's got some family with him.

Anyway. I used to go watch the Twilight Crit live all the time in undergrad at UGA, so this is a balm to my soul.
(Like, was-just-in-a-car-accident shit day. Am okay. Car is totaled, and the other driver is at fault and will feel the wrath of my insurance company.) But you understand why I might want a distraction.
The delight of discovering that I can watch the Twilight Criterium in Athens at the end of a truly shit day is unmatched.
"You treat Buddy like a pin cushion?! You puncture Buddy's delicate hide with vicious needles?! JAIL! JAIL FOR MOTHERS!"
Nooooo, Ben!
i'll read any article of any length. i'll read any book. but i will not watch a youtube explainer or monologue that is longer than three minutes. write it down buddy
Some brains are gonna explode if they read up on liberation theology, man.
“It's a shame that the Pope has made the Catholic Church political” is one of the most amazing sentences ever uttered by a politician. Elite stuff. Arguably the most wrong a person could be, including rejecting basic arithmetic.
Always in favor of the defeat of authoritarianism and Wout beating the tragedy narrative. Only things that would have improved the day for me would've been (a) fully televising the women's race and (b) Vos winning, because she is the goat and I'm a completionist.
Thrilled to be of service!
I am. I'm celebrating!
I'm going to celebrate Orban losing by watching the last 100k of the men's Paris-Roubaix again, I think.
So, like: rock on, Hungary. Nice job on the bravery. Hopefully we can follow your lead a little in a few months and kick some assholes out.
I remember taking students to Hungary about 6 years ago, and one of them saw a small Pride flag in a window and said, "Oh, cool, I guess it *is* Pride this month," and I had to explain how fucking brave that person probably was for having that flag outside their home.
Hell yes, Wout wins and Orban loses? Not a bad final day of Spring Break. Just rooting for a blood clot over here to round it off.
Nothin' like it. I kinda liked Roubaix in October. It was one of the cooler features of that weird-ass season.
The problem for me is that I teach, and the spring Classics are right in the middle of crunch time to graduation. So unfortunately I think I'm planning my Flanders-Roubaix Holy Week pilgrimage as a retirement present to myself, assuming I ever get to retire. But a person can dream.
Right?! The men finished early, let's cut to the women! We're missing the damn race!
It's on my bucket list of races to see in person, definitely!
(I mean, it always ends in the velodrome. That's non-negotiable.)
Sometimes! Paris-Roubaix ends a lot of ways. It's been a one-man show the past few years with MVdP, but it can be a sprint finish some years, too. The women's Paris-Roubaix has been full of variety in terms of the way it's ended, so it'll be interesting to see how that plays out today, too.
Oh bless him that's just the BEST!
I don't think I have ever been as delighted for a race result EVER
YES! OH MY GOD! WOUT! #ParisRoubaix2026
C'mon, Wout, hold him. Wheel suck for your life. #ParisRoubaix2026
MVdP is riding with nothing but rage and the thought, "Why are Jasper and I dumb about pedal clips?" #ParisRoubaix2026
Okay, look, that ONE LADY on the side of the road trying to start the wave is my favorite. #ParisRoubaix2026
PEACOCK I SWEAR TO GOD THESE COMMERCIALS #ParisRoubaix2026
Good man, Wout. Make Pog do the work. #ParisRoubaix2026
