How is it possible 2 publish a yrly ave of 42.5 academic papers/chapters/books over 2020-2025? This equates to 0.9 pubs pw taking in2 account 4wks leave.
Is such hyper-publishing a good or bad thing for the academy... peer review process... schools/dept...colleagues...society?
Thoughts?

Great episode on #Marx on @originstorypodcast.bsky.social with @iandunt.bsky.social and @dorianlynskey.bsky.social.
I have often wondered if Marx could/should be seen as *consultant* given that he was paid by Engels?
Call for abstracts for special session on #PeripheralCentralities at #WPSC2026 in #Helsinki/#Espoo

New book on the history of peripheral centralities and suburban utopias/failures, ed. by Nick Phelps, @rkeil.bsky.social & @planographer.bsky.social.
Our chapter uses Lefebvre's notion of centrality to examine Madrid's informal settlements and their impact on urban policy under a Fascist regime.
Really excited to see this book published and delighted to be part of it. My chapter with Emma McDougall explores the shifting geographies of the peripheral and central as LRT reorders the geography of Waterloo Region.
Congratulations @planographer.bsky.social @rkeil.bsky.social & Nick Phelps

What's *need* got to do with it when it's about what lots/most people *want*?
But what about progress in building technologies, materials production etc and labour force productivity?
Thnx. Hoping to get back to UU in Sept for UKAP conference.

I have only just joined, and my feed is full of cats and interesting plants. I am pleased with this.
And in true academic fashion, my first post is shameless self-promotion.
We're having a book launch for the new edition of Environment & Sustainability!

For #publicpolicy and #publicadmin colleagues on here, what label/descriptor would you use to define President Trump's approach/style of publicpolicy thus far?
Would hyper-NPM work?
