Thank you, Pressenza, for this beautiful interview with our playwright, Heny Roig Monge. We loved this poetic and powerful dialogue of how art, memory, and movement transform the stage into a space for resistance, identity, and healing. 🦋✨

What does collective female exhaustion look like on stage? Five performers transform into a kaleidoscope of one woman's psyche in this boundary-shattering work. You've never seen anything like this.

sarAika is a NYC-based collective that blends contemporary dance with multidisciplinary performance to explore urgent social issues. Their direction brings a visceral, physical language to "Todas las mariposas negras mueren en el mar."

Co-directing "Todas las mariposas negras" is Antígona González.
Antígona has become a defining voice in IATI’s artistic vision. She won the 2023 HOLA Award for Best Director for "Temporada de ciervos" and is nominated again for "La niña y la ballena," our spring Mainstage production.
Sept 26 - Oct 5 at IATI Theater

"Todas las mariposas negras mueren en el mar" explores what happens when exhaustion becomes unbearable. Five women embody the contradictions of being written into existence by a society that judges, silences, and confines.
