They do realise we can search and find the comments they made during the weather events Labour had to manage?

NIWA records show extremes like Cyclone Bola Mar 88 were singular. Extreme rainfall events have inc, NIWA noting 4-5 high temp extremes in the last decade than expected, heavy rain dropping 30% more rain due to climate factors. Prior to 2018, summers rarely saw two such events within weeks.
Pre-2018 clusters of multiple major summer weather events did not occur. Severe summers existed, Jan 98-99 rains causing Auckland floods, or the 1936 storm in Jan devastating much of the country.
2018 brought cyclones Fehi Feb 1 & Gita Feb 20-2, causing a state of emergency, Jan 22-23 saw Auckland's Anniversary floods & Cyclone Gabrielle Feb 13-14, the 3rd national state of emergency. And here we are 2026 - same thing.
Enhanced funding like NZTA's 95% emergency aid helps short-term but burdens ratepayers long-term without ecosystem protections mining erodes.
Another summer with extreme weather warnings, will be made worse if the mining & drilling goes ahead. Projections show mining exports hitting $2 billion by 2035, yet flood frequency (due to climate change) outpaces one-off royalties, leaving councils underprepared per Auditor-General reports.
“So our government is relying on the distractions of the approaching holiday season to maintain its wall of silence on Israel’s genocide and land grabbing.”

A section on media bias - they believe the media has been biased against Israel - can't say that's been my impression...
When Earth overshoot day would land if we lived like these countries.
We should be looking at Uruguay for more solutions - the frightening thing is the government here is taking us backwards in almost every environmental policy.
No one should forget this.
Birds of a feather...
And this is the government of 'fiscal responsibility', with the ongoing, and ever widening, divide of what was promised and what has been delivered. They really are so bad at this.

Is that a Gestapo coat?
I have developed a crease along the top of my forehead and I believe it's from hearing so much that means I'm holding a WTAF face so often.
When profit and shareholders' dividends are the number one concern, cost cutting, to the detriment of the purchaser, will be implemented by far too many companies. Most regulations have been brought in for good reason.
They did not apply for the grant correctly under Labour, received huge amount of press about not getting the funding, this made some of the public angry and National paid them for their service.
There has been an increase in referrals across many services, not enough staff, only so many clinics can be booked in a day, waiting times inc, causing more stress & for people to be sicker by the time they get seen. Those med professionals who are still here in the public system are bloody heroes.
Shocking revelations of the shadowy tactics to oust Jeremy Corbyn now being exposed.
I have been horrified by the UK government, for numerous reasons. They certainly do not represent the more vulnerable demographics and having people in top positions who are linked with Friends of Israel has shown they do not listen to the majority of the people they are there to govern.
And now we see the astronomical pay rises they awarded themselves. The CAMHS workers who are stretched to the max and spend most of their time at the urgent end of mental health for our young can only dream of these salaries.

By the end of this Parliamentary term, an ordinary MP's salary will be $181,200. The prime minister's salary will be $520,000 and the deputy prime minister's will be $369,800. It isn't as if we get value for these salaries but they obviously think they are worth it.
This government is excellent at choosing the opposite of what is needed in New Zealand - from workers rights and pay, health, housing, education, environment.. I'm blown away at just how detrimental they are to the wellbeing of so many Kiwis.

And then they won the election and shut this down - the corruption of this administration is staggering.
There isn't a single decision that makes sense, not one.
I wonder if this will get the same traction as the ram raids and retail crime reported on leading up to the last election?

Is this what they think is holding the country back? In every issue they take the worst option.
Principals talk about the lack of sector input and transparency, no surprises there.

I would prefer a black heart option - I love that you are sharing this info but hate the content. The red heart doesn't feel right for many posts I want to acknowledge. It is sickening how this CoC addresses environmental issues.
