I love this
I mean that makes sense from a financial perspective.
Still seems like a grift, there's a lot of tech know-how they'll need to hire (or contract out) and that's in pretty high demand too.
They realize they can just start a different company?
This is insane, but for added context they are selling the shoe brand to someone else, so if you want shoes from a company that doesnβt sell GPU compute you could still technically go with Allbirds.

I've never had an issue with 3rd party batteries, though there are some I probably wouldn't leave in the camera long-term/ leave in the charger overnight.
I've just gotten whatever has decent ratings and just gotten extras since they're usually a lot cheaper, even if they don't last as long.
I turned off YouTube recommendations (& history) a long time ago, but damn if it isn't bleak seeing what it recommends under every video on mobile.
And listening to my diskman in the back of the car as the audio skipped all over the place when the road was anything but perfectly smooth.
The RL10 is just a very good rocket engine
I have all these cat toys everywhere and the only one he is remotely interested in is the one I cannot find.
Didn't realize the fleet had gotten so small
Is this really going to go on for 2.5 more years?
Tbh given how rapidly he's deteriorating I don't think he makes it the whole time, but he can do a lot of damage every day he's still in office.
Yeah that was the most important quote to pull out of that rant.
What are we even doing here folks? How is this something I have to see when I log on.
Where did we go wrong?
I really struggle to see what the helicopters can do that on-orbit sensors can't. Even the pathfinding mission doesn't make sense since they're not being used with a rover.
The Pope is "weak on nuclear weapons" is definitely not one I saw coming
There's also something to be said about how it's an american NASA hype video but it feels like it's advocating for all of humanity.
Which is exactly how space exploration should be.
Great things are still possible. I was traveling internationally recently and saw multiple kids on public transit looking at photos from Artemis on Instagram.
Doing amazing things can inspire people, which is especially important now.
I almost gave up a career in aerospace because with the retirement of the shuttle and the flailing of Constellation, it felt like a dead end.
I am so happy I was wrong.
I would love to see an update of this post Artemis II.
It still gives me chills every time I watch it.

Image of the earth backlight against space taken from the window the Artemis II capsule. A thin halo of atmosphere is visible around the edge of the earth. As well as the Aurora at the poles
I keep coming back to this picture from Artemis II. Just how fragile that atmosphere on this little sphere we call home is.
I really hope we don't fuck it up.
Alpha site but make it gold

I hate that this is something that has to even factor into how I feel about myself.
I get a lot of personal fulfillment and self worth (for better or worse) out of my career. But I shouldn't have to think about losing that to be who I am.

I love seeing neighborhood cats out and about, but I could never let my own wander around. I'd be worried sick!
People shouldn't have to choose between doing something that fills them with purpose and being who they are.
It's something I struggle with every day, and I hope we can create a world where that choice is no longer necessary.
My heart breaks for everyone who has to make this choice.π
Especially for the upper stage! The DCSS has a great track record! It's got more flight heritage than starship!
Help desk work teaches invaluable skills about working with people, troubleshooting, and triage that have applications in any environment. Truly some of the most valuable training I ever had.
