Same. There’s lots of places in the world I’d like to see but that’s one country I don’t ever want to go to

My daughter recently returned from a 2 week uni trip to New York. She was put through a lot of unnecessary stress just
to get into the country. She’s been to the US before but said this time around it was way more intense

Four frames. Angus Taylor and journo. 1. Angus: “We need to decide who we let into this country...” Journo: “We already do, through our immigration process.” 2. A: “Yes, well we need to make sure they respect our values…” J: “They already have to pass a values test.” 3. A: “Well, we need to ensure they don’t breach these values…” J: “We have laws, and consequences for people who break them.” 4. A: “Something something people from Gaza…” J: “It’s hard coming second to Pauline, isn’t it.”

So sorry to our Australia’s Lebanese communities who must think all we care about is the price of fuel. 😔

This is not journalism. The Bowen beat-up and the Iran war - Michael West The Murdoch press ran cover for an illegal war by blaming the wrong man entirely, instead of informing the public of facts.

"Chris Bowen did not block the Strait of Hormuz. A war did." Andrew Brown on the failing Murdoch and msm media propaganda

Civil liberties. Senate to approve extraordinary ASIO powers - Michael West New laws to pass Senate and enshrine ASIO's extraordinary powers of interrogation without proper judicial, parliamentary or public review.

This is terrifying.
Did this pass in the senate yet?

Allegra Spender reopens the tax debate – but the real divide is wealth, not generations Australia’s tax debate often frames reform as a struggle between younger and older generations. But the real divide lies between wage earners and those who derive growing advantage from assets, wealth and capital income.

Deirdre has cared for her son for 45 years. He'll soon enter the unknown Deirdre Croft has dedicated 45 years to caring and advocating for her intellectually disabled son, Richard. Each passing day brings more pressure to secure his future when she's gone. It's a distressi...

As trite as it sounds, just bringing visibility of the existence of people with severe disability in our community is so incredibly important. We refer to the bad old days where people were institutionalised and neglected and abused, yet we teeter on the brink of a similar reality.

From what Labor has offered/shown us so far maybe we should be glad they aren’t wielding their significant power.
Most are still under the illusion Labor will somehow or sometime do the ‘right thing’.

What I always hear: “We can’t afford to pay our workers more than $15 an hour.”

What I never hear: “We can’t afford to pay our CEO millions of dollars a year.”

Funny how that works.
