So proud of myself for attempting (and managing!) this after only 3 weeks back riding outside. 10 weeks since surgery and 8.5 months since the original injury it's starting to feel like I'm properly back.

Spot the gatecrasher...
It's been a while since we last did parkrun tourism by bike - pleasant spin to and from Temple Newsam mainly on segregated cycle paths, and a parkrun and cake in the middle. Definitely feeling more like my old self again!
Early run then into the office. Life is starting to feel normal again after 8 months!
A change of volunteering role today - marshalling the cycle club TT. Managed to get my parkrun time back under 25 minutes for the first time since my surgery first, so it is a good day ๐
I've missed early morning runs in a peaceful park!
My longest ride since the op definitely earned waffles. So nice to see the sun even if there was still a cold wind!
I have barely driven since I was hit by a car in August. No choice in the matter, and no ability to play an exceptional hardship card. To be fair my life was already set up to use my car as little as possible and the pain was more of an issue than not driving, but still...
Still quite windy!
Busy day! Crosby #parkrun with the iron men, a speedy bunny and chocolate eggs, a bike ride (windy, no photo stops, arm needs to be stronger to deal with those conditions) and visiting a bench to remember an old friend.
My shoulder survived a day of live music at So Long, Good Friday. Good to be out again. Not sure it was ideal preparation for parkrun though!
It's nearly time for cygnet watch!
Bloody cold at juniors this morning but I was smiling because the sling has been swapped for a bike ๐
I suspect I've been to fracture clinic more than the office since August (thank god for remote working while I can't drive!) and I've got a little routine now. First stop coffee on the way over to the hospital
Squirrel says Hello Monday
I'm starting to enjoy long walks instead of long rides. Today's outing took in volunteering at juniors parkrun on the way to Harewood House ๐
More #parkrun tourism, sticking with slingtervals for now but shoulder is coping well so hopefully normal running will resume soon!
Last day of sick leave before going back to work tomorrow, so I got out for a long walk in the sun and these two came to say hello. Still using the sling a decent amount, but the pain levels seem much improved.
It's tough but lovely!
That must be one of the best #parkrun finish line views there is! Today I discovered that I can run in the sling, but that running up a mountain after 5 weeks of no running is bloody hard work!
When I knew I'd need some time off running to fix my shoulder I set myself the target of getting to my 25 volunteer milestone. Ticked it off this morning tailwalking at my home #parkrun ๐
Official Team GB Paralympic photo, with the the crests and everything, and a professional headshot, but it's for "Pickle, A Very Good Girl", who is a black labrador, with a hi-viz harness and a red collar.
Some of you like dogs, in which case you may appreciate that guide dogs of Team GB for the Paralympics get official photos
My search for low intensity things to get me out of the house took me to junior #parkrun this morning for a bit of marshalling. As someone with no kids it's not my normal habitat but surprisingly enjoyable!
My #parkrun volunteering today was tailwalking, chatting with another walker about our respective metalwork...
This local Wolfdog joined an Olympic ski event and triggered the finish-line camera. This is Nazgul. He snuck into a cross-country skiing sprint this morning and raced the homestretch with some competitors before being escorted home. 14/10 someone get him a medal
Happy pancake day to all who celebrate!
Sunshine! Back at #parkrun for one armed barcode scanning and token sorting. So nice to be out and about again!
One week post shoulder/hip surgery and my main achievements are showering, dressing, removing the dressings and not getting bored out of my mind... Trying to do easy walks to local coffee shops to get out of the house for a while!
Today's achievement was getting dressed and leaving the house. Shoulder and hip both sore, and getting dressed is much more complicated than it was when I was last in the sling back in summer! Too many layers...
