China is separating Tibetan children from their families and placing them in boarding schools for assimilation and heavy political indoctrination. Many Tibetans fear a whole generation of children will lose their culture, religion and language.

China reports problems at five reservoirs in Tibet after earthquake Chinese authorities in Tibet have detected problems, including cracks, at five out of 14 hydropower dams that they have inspected since a magnitude 6.8 earthquake rocked the southwest region last week, an emergency official said on Thursday.

Reuters article reveals several of China’s dams in Tibet have been damaged from the recent earthquake. The damming of rivers in a seismically active country like Tibet poses great risks, which China often downplays.

The earthquake in Tibet is a nightmare on top of a nightmare.

The majority of Tibetan school-age children have been separated from their families and made to live in state-run boarding schools.

This includes 4 & 5-years olds whose parents have no choice but to send them to boarding preschools.
