Apologies for the lack of updates here.
We’ve been deep in rolling out end-to-end encryption across everything. It’s complex, and many issues only show up at global scale in production.
If you’re curious, we published a technical whitepaper:

We meant to write you sooner, man, we just been busy
Hope you read this reply, hope it reaches you quickly
Try to understand, we do want you on the platform
Just building it so you can go wild - and still feel safe when you do
Apologies, we've been bad at updates lately.
Most delays have come from rolling out a fully end-to-end encrypted platform. Simply put, encryption is hard.
We've just rolled out the new key/vault onboarding for current users. Much more to come, quickly, with this now rolled out.
Should be this week now, apologies! We just published a blog post that explains the delays.

Launch: We’re finishing Account Recovery updates & resolving a few production issues. This work had to happen before launch to protect privacy & user-controlled data.
Hopefully shipping recovery updates in the next 48hrs, with most major functionality live by this week.

Launch: We're wrapping up fixes on issues related to new user onboarding and guided tours as well as some menu and sidebar issues users have brought up. Our hope is to get new user sign ups running between today and tomorrow (28th).
We appreciate your patience and continued support!
We're hoping for some point today, the 27th and if not the 28th, we're just wrapping up some final fixes with new user onboarding and guided tours.
Launch: Vault verifications have completed and all vaults are now ready for use.
We're working on bringing the core services online. Over the next 24 hours users will see their feeds, content posting, and core functions enabled. Sign Ups should return shortly after this period.
Launch: Vault indexing is approximately 83% complete. We are continuing to bring other services and platform functionality online as indexing continues.
Launch: We have verified the fix for vaults and started the process of rebuilding indexes a few hours ago.
It is expected that this process will take up to 24 hours to complete. We are continuing to bring other services and platform functionality online as we complete this final step.
Launch: We’ve found a final issue tied to vault provisioning. A fix is deployed and testing now.
Vault indexes need to be rebuilt (~24 hours). Most services will come online during this, but posting and new account creation will stay disabled until indexing completes.
Thanks for your patience.
Our current expectation is sometime in the next 10-12 hours, we’ll post another general update soon!
Apologies for the delay.
We’re actively launching the next-generation of Submit. As folks sign in, a few issues are surfacing that we’re fixing in real time. This may take a few hours, possibly into the morning of Jan 21, and some features may not work fully.
Sorry for the friction. We’ll keep sharing updates.
January 20th. 6-9 PM PST.
Next Generation launches in two days. Ground-up rebuild. Communities give you control. Privacy as infrastructure.
What to expect on launch day:

For our communities, privacy isn't about convenience. It's about safety.
That's why we built Submit with #privacy at the architectural level—not as a promise, but as infrastructure that protects by default.

Why "Submit"?
Not about submitting to someone else—it's about submitting to yourself. Your truth. Your identity. Your freedom.
Letting go and just being who you actually are.
From our founder:

We made some changes in the last hour that remove old versions that would try and make you sign-in.
Glad it's working now! :)
We definitely need to add a redirect for the old docs subdomain though - thank you for the heads up on that!
We recently deprecated that subdomain and moved our legal and guidelines pages to our primary domain, submit.gg/legal and submit.gg/guidelines
Blog posts do not require you to be signed in, wondering if you had previously visited Submit some time ago and might have a cached version being bad?
Privacy as infrastructure. Consent in every layer. Safety by design.
Not features bolted on. The foundation we started with.
What does our community need? We asked and built from first principles.

We're not here because the market had a gap.
We're here because existing platforms failed our communities—and we refuse to accept that as inevitable.

The platforms that exist today aren't keeping us safe. So we rebuilt ours from scratch.
Next-gen Submit launches January 20th: intentional communities, privacy by design, and control that's actually yours.

Totally hear you. We weren't trying to take away from OP's message—we agree with it. We just added what we believe is the next step: moving to better spaces. Credit card companies already know. We've seen that trying to pressure them doesn’t work. What does work is leaving.
You’re right — using the same message wasn’t the best move. We appreciate the call-out. We want to be thoughtful and personal, but sometimes we get caught up trying to get the important message out there.
We support anyone building something better—that’s what we’re doing too. We’ve already reached out to @kinkmmunity.bsky.social to offer help if they need it. No one should feel unsafe or unheard. Our team is diverse, values-driven, and focused on building a respectful, inclusive future.
We’ve said what we need to say. Our record speaks for itself—and so does our growth. Submit continues to be built around accountability, safety, and truth. If that’s not the narrative someone wants, we won’t try to convince them. We’ll keep doing the work.
You don’t have to take our word for it—Submit is alive, growing, and thriving. Our team and community work every day to ensure it remains a space free of racism, hate, and discrimination. We’re here to build something better—together.
Whether they realized it or not, following misinformation doesn’t excuse breaking the rules. The 120-day lockouts were for clear violations, not disagreement. Anyone could’ve appealed—none did. Accountability still matters.
That was nearly 2 years ago. Race was never a factor—claims to the contrary aren’t true. We’ve seen how misinformation can spread, and we’ve taken real steps since then to learn, improve, and keep Submit grounded in respect, accountability, and care for our community.
