The Fraud's Prayer:
Our Father, who art in the White House,
hallowed be thy combover;
thy blingdom come;
thy will be dumb;
In Washington as you are in Florida.
Give us this day our daily round of golf.
And forgive us our insider trading,
as we refuse to forgive those who investigate against us...

Migrants are making false domestic abuse allegations to stay in the UK, BBC investigation finds In the third part of an undercover investigation, the BBC reveals how rules aimed at protecting abuse victims are being exploited.

It’s genuinely staggering how little substance there is to today’s instalment of the BBC’s attempt to create a national crisis out of a few unproven allegations of immigration fraud 1/

For the second day, the BBC are running a story that presents itself as providing evidence of endemic abuse of the asylum system based on seemingly a single encounter with someone who is neither a lawyer nor a registered immigration adviser. Words fail. This is reprehensibly irresponsible.

France passed a law requiring solar panels on every parking lot with more than 80 spaces.

Equals 10 nuclear reactors
Reduces heat island, shades cars

The US -- 800 million parking spaces. Most of them are uncovered asphalt sitting in direct sunlight.

Why aren't we doing this?

I do think Robertson blunted his response with an unnecessary sideswipe as "welfare". Money could come from higher taxes. Or cuts elsewhere. And he did the politician's get out of saying "welfare" and not "pensions".

Turns an intervention from a defence-focused one to Retired Man Has Opinion.

I don't know why this is so hard for some people to grasp. If we extend our use of fossil gas, rather than going all-out for grid batteries, heat pumps and induction hobs, we extend our dependence on *foreign* sources of gas, regardless of whether we also use the UK's last remaining reserves. 🧡

"Hello, yes, I'm a doctor. Normal doctor. Try not to notice that winged angel warlock thing up there. This is a regular sight in hospitals. Perhaps he's the registrar? I'm sure that's a hospital word. Also, the birds. They're just vultures. But you'll be fine. Now, eat this light bulb."

It’s hard to believe, but JD Vance has somehow found a way to be even more incompetent than Trump.

The shameless hypocrisy -

JD Vance - the VP of the USA - rocks up in Hungary days before they go to the polls to overtly campaign for OrbΓ‘n…

…and he has the sheer audacity to accuse the EU of external election interference (because EU stuck to its rules). Grotesque.

You may wonder why the Europeans aren't responding more forcefully to JD Vance in Budapest

1/ Because Orban looks set to lose & any EU intervention could be counterproductive

2/ Because the US is so far beyond the pale - Greenland, Iran, Ukraine etc. The EU is quietly moving on

Regardless of whether it’s all talk, when the leader of our country expresses plainly genocidal intent, everyone has to do something.

For citizens of all political stripes, it means rejecting this madness. For Congress, it means taking action to rein him in. Now.

Wouldn't travel any other way. Looking forward to Amsterdam-Vienna sleeper then on to Bratislava / High Tatras in June. Yes, it's pricey compared to flights, but much more relaxing and immersive. Byway Travel is excellent and will do all the bookings if you don't fancy working out connections etc

Just a few weeks until we get solar panels installed. I know it's sad but I'm quite excited. There's something v hope-inducing about the sun directly powering your house

Lots of people seem to be exploring options ATM (inc plug-in solar). Let me know if you have panels already or are considering it
