You ever try to code switch at work and fail? 😂
The message of the Right reacting to Virginia is the same as the message of "2020 was rigged": no victory by anyone but us is ever legitimate. We are the only ones allowed to win.
These people are cartoon villains entitled to no respect and no trust. Rabid dogs.

Oh by the way: it’s real and it’s SPECTACULAR.
I have no idea what one is either and do not wish to know given apparent irrelevance to anything in my life.
In my mind I’ve lumped them with Johnny Somali as an some idiot jackhole assholing their way around the planet.
Democrats did not want to do any mid-decade redistricting. It was Trump who started it in June 2025 with a phone call to Greg Abbott after more special election losses. Dems warned they’d respond. But Texas did it anyway - without the consent of the voters. Then Dems responded.

“But how are we gonna pay for it?” should never be taken seriously ever again when we want to pay for universal healthcare or universal basic income or any governmental service that helps millions of people.
results of VA special election showing "Yes" to the constitutional amendment passing 51.5 to 48.5
VA REDISTRICTING 🧵
1/ Working on a segment for Friday's show. The VA Constitutional amendment passed tonight by a roughly 3-point margin, ~100K votes out of more than 3 million cast.
That authorizes a new map that will shift VA's US House seats from 6-5 Dem to 10-1.

Effing beautiful Jeremy! Top notch aces.
It requires your boring parents, your boring neighbor, to be capable of incredible violence.
For each guy who'd gladly stomp on a toddler's head, it needs a thousand who simply have no moral qualms about hiring that guy to stomp on toddlers' heads.
A key part of the banality of evil is that fascism trains people who are boringly and completely neurotypical to be incredibly violent, as part of their boring job.
It literally could not possibly work if it could only be done by the tiny fraction of the population with cluster B syndromes.

The YES has won in Virginia; voters approved the constitutional amendment to adopt Dems' congressional gerrymander.
This is likely to deliver a 10-1 (Dem) congressional delegation in November, compared to 6-5 (Dem) now.
The remaining obstacle: State supreme court will be weighing in still.
2027 calendars will be up for preorder soon. Three formats: wall calendar, planner, and day-to-day tear-off calendar.

The first epidemic of the 1918 flu in the United States occurred at the military’s Camp Funston, Kansas (later Fort Riley).
Infected soldiers headed to WWI battlefields carried the flu to Europe. Millions died
It’s not *vaccination* that weakens force readiness.
The apparent theory here--SPLC was defrauding donors by paying right-wing extremist org informants, and also took completely legal steps for obscuring the money trail for very obvious reasons on this totally legal thing to do--is ludicrous even by the notoriously malleable standard for wire fraud.
Acknowledging the stark, ugly truth that the Republicans basically had no good reason to do what they have done for the last 11 years and have lapsed into vast collective psychosis over totally immaterial and utterly depraved delusions is terrifying, and as such most commentators simply do not do it
Most of the pundit cottage industry is based around obfuscating a very simple truth out of psychological self-protection, that one of America’s two major parties came to be the Demented Psycho Evil-Ass Rape Party from affirmative choices their voters made of their own free will because they liked it
So much was lost when kids were able to check books out of the library by ordering them up from their computer in the dorm instead of having to go into the stacks and encounter books they hadn’t planned on seeing
Look at this chart.
Tax cuts for the rich are a policy choice. Cutting the social safety net in exchange for them is a policy choice.
States like New York have an opportunity to help undo this trickle down nonsense by raising taxes on the rich (who will still be rich).
I hope Gov. Hochul does.
