What a stupid time to launch new hardware with a heavy reliance on AI - cost of living crisis means it's unaffordable for most, and nobody likes AI. Also, those things don't look "light and wearable" to me, and what about people who already wear glasses?

Honestly not much logic to it. Mum takes me to her hairdresser for a proper haircut so it's easier for her to schedule that on the day if I'm not working, and it means I can spend my birthday week on late night horror movie binges and video games. Best gift-to-self!

Ish, yeah - sort of around two weeks before. When I was still working in an office, it also meant being able to avoid the "So what are your plans for Valentine's Day?!?" questions. Apparently "kind of not caring" is not a polite answer.

Honestly, mine's probably one of the perfect times to take a week off. No major holidays, over a month since the last big time-off holidays, everyone else is saving their off-time for better weather so I don't have to fight for those specific days.

I agree with you, but it's not like they had the best 'role models' in mainstream media either. When trailers for everything from games to shows to movies are spectacle or shipper-bait above substance, I figure the takeaway for some people is "story is secondary".

So my friend @ichimakesart.bsky.social was asking me about trying uszka and I mentioned I struggle to roll dough thin enough for things like pierogi and thus uszka, and I found a pasta maker that actually says it's good for dumpling dough, and now my kitchen needs MORE THINGS.

I thought about pierogi first but, while I did find a gluten-free recipe, I recently found out that my fibromyalgia makes it hard for me to roll out dough thin enough. If I can ever manage pierogi, then I'll try uszka. I'm better at kopytka - are they good in borscht?

I require a really good stock pot. I have decided I want to learn to make borscht, y'see. And gołąbki because I know my grandmother used to make it and my mother loves it. But my stock pot is not equal to blanching a cabbage or making really good homemade stock. Thus? STOCK POT.

As much as I trust Guerilla ... it's a subsidy of Sony. And these days, I feel like "truly next-gen graphics" is a bit of a potential red flag for "this is using AI" and if we're looking at some DLSS5 bullshit, I have the fear. But Sony's not doing PC ports anymore so I can't play it anyway.
