Importantly, user rules set in the IDE still get injected into the requests sent via their CLI, Agent (reportedly a thin wrapper around Claude). I'm not 100% sure how this works, as I don't see it in ~/.cursor/rules, but it still seems to work. I'll try it in Claude CLI today and see if it holds.

TBH it's almost verbatim the same as the one in your blog. I formatted mine as markdown with `# headings` and `* bullets`, but I'd guess the bigger difference may be that mine is set via the Cursor UI...
