My desire to be nice and polite is continually at war with my need to be factually accurate.

A comic with a simple style depicting two people wearing clothes with the colors of the asexual flag, facing each other and having a conversation. The person on the left says: "As a sex-repulsed asexual, I feel like I'm treated as inferior to sex-favorable asexuals because I can't give people the satisfaction of talking about, writing about, or engaging with sex." The person on the right says: "As a sex-favorable asexual, I feel like I'm respected less than sex-repulsed asexuals because I don't conform to the stereotype people have of aces, so they either kinda ignore my orientation or impose new stereotypes on me." A second panel shows both of them looking dejected, supporting each other by the shoulder. The person on the left concludes: "So, basically, we can't win, huh." The person on the right answers: "What else is new."
We're getting there little by little, sure. But it's a road.
Anyway happy international asexuality day

The USA has been brought up already, but what about Florida? Or my partner's homeland - the Czech Republic?
And I'm so sorry for yours. It hurts but it also feels fitting that they would return on the day they came. May the best of them live on through us. *Hugs back*
I buried my mother today on her birthday.
One of the most appalling things about religion is that someone can be overwhelmingly complimentary about [insert a mountain of qualities they admire] towards you and do a perfect 180° turn the second you mention you're [insert thing they think should be wiped off the face of the earth, like queer].

Dredging the internet, which is full of both intentional and unintentional misspellings. It's also modeling it after other people's use of words instead of your own. Which would explain why it keeps suggesting words I would never use and misspellings that I wouldn't make.
I've seen a couple of articles saying that the recent plunge in autocorrect functionality is because most of the companies have switched it to AI. So what you're getting is not suggestions drawn from a reliable source or an internal database of correct spellings and suggestions. It's -
I do not like this gen AI
I do not like what it implies
I do not want it in my art
I do not think it makes you smart
I do not want it in my games
I do not like its goals and aims
I do not want it in my books
I do not like the way it looks
I do not like it, I don't care
I do not want it anywhere
These two are just the cutest, most smitten pair and they brighten my day every time they pop up laughing together!
I looked that up and it looks / sounds amazing! Wow the traditional pancakes are looking a little sad right now LOL

Although there's also a common joke that the mosquito is the state bird of Florida and those are even more common here.
Florida's state bird is the mockingbird and they are a very common sight where I live.

Thank you; it's devastating and I'm so sorry you've felt this pain too. That's what I'm trying to remember; the bond isn't broken. They remain with us and in everything we do moving forward.
My mother passed this morning. I just want to sit on the floor like a child and call for my mommy. But she can't come anymore and tell me it's going to be okay. She won't ever again.
That tends to be my opinion. If the being isn't human, there's no point in trying to define it by human standards of morality or normality.
... technically Meredith hates her husband so much that one day she's going to murder him because it's faster and simpler than divorce, but I wouldn't call her crazy. She's amoral. And very done. With everything.
trust issues, like Cardinal, that make having healthy relationships difficult. I guess my best example is the Moon Mother, who isn't even remotely human and who is often called the Mad Goddess because she's unpredictable and embodies Mania.
I generally try to avoid attributing words like "crazy" or "insane" to my characters. Several are afraid of being seen as "crazy" or have been seen as "crazy" because they perceive the world differently and/or have mental health challenges. Some, like Candy, have serious anger issues or
