1066 Midgard fun. Running this at the Midgard Moot in April
Posts by Matt Slade
Recent addition to the napoleonics. Front Rank British light dragoons.
Ah. Maybe not. Is that our Waterloo weekend @johnsavage.bsky.social ?
I could be available to run something. Midgard Hastings or LOTR or something else SP.
Continuing to rebase rarely used single figures, here’s 36 guard chasseurs. They’ve joined nine of twelve acw regiments on the basing tray. Bought the Rebs from a guy on Facebook. Three pictured already sorted. Had to add a few command to the nine.
A few more pics from our monster hunting adventures or is that misadventures!
Friday saw me and Mark have a first dabble with Devilry Afoot by Nic Wright. What a blast?! It’s a cooperative game where the players are witch/monster hunters in the 16/17th C (ish!). Played out two missions. Only needs a two foot square terrain set up and a handful of figures. Recommended!!!
And rounding off the six games were a Dux Britanniarum and a What a Cowboy run by the Peterborough chaps who as ever were great hosts. Good curry and a few too many beers rounded of the day very nicely. I played in Mike Whitaker’s Dux game and managed to win in spite of my complete ineptitude.
There were also these two Sharp Practice games set in the ACW and the Garibaldi wars.
My morning game was a super Bosworth bash using Midgard, run by the game’s creator himself @mogsymakes.bsky.social aka James Morris. The pesky Stanley’s turned on me so Henry Tudor copped it. Sorry Henry.
Went to Posh Lard in Peterborough yesterday. Here’s a few pics of a lovely CoC2 game “The Eagle has Larded” by Mike Wilkins. Resistance featuring Rene and co from Allo Allo taking on the villainous Germans
Prussian guard hussars and a reserve infantry battalion added to the horde. I think that’s 21 infantry and nine cavalry now.
Booked this for next year 🥰
Couple of 80s nostalgic gigs. ABC playing Lexicon of Love with a full orchestra in Bournemouth and Adam Ant in Bristol. Both great fun. Still going strong.
Reaper minis commission
Dead Man’s Hand commission.
Bartok’s new favourite thing. A coffee sack. Who knew?
Big old 15mm WW1 commission. These are the minis from the Great War boardgame by PSC.
Fun day at Warfare on Saturday. A mini lard zone featuring a smashing What A Tanker by @joewargamer.bsky.social and a very nice CoC2 next door.
Haven’t been on here for ages. Here’s a Prussian guard hussar regiment I knocked out yesterday afternoon. Calpe minis.
Nice to bump into you both. Enjoyable day.
The voice isn’t what it was but the crowd do all the singing to be honest 😂 and the music is as good as ever.
Fun day at Colours today. Highlight was seeing the superb Battle of Five Armies Midgard game run by @mogsymakes.bsky.social and bumping into numerous chums.
Saw them in Cardiff recently. Great stuff
I’ll be there. Hopefully will bump into you both
Hastings Midgard style. Cracking playtest of the game I’ll be running at Ebor Lard in a couple of weeks.
Pikeman’s Lament action at Glenbrook HQ this morning. Jolly good fun it was too.
They are. Lovely figures.
Little Jacobite rebellion commission
All based up.
