Sometimes I think about the hobby lobby kitsch aesthetic in the oval office and get a little sad

Live your life in such a way that the history books, if they remember you, will not forever know you as one who called what is evil, good.

Rather as one who stood against evil, because it was evil.

Then again, the history books may not remember you for that. But God will.

Isaiah's word of promise for the future:

The fool will no more be called noble,
nor the scoundrel said to be honorable.

- Isa. 32:5

Lord, bring that day quickly.

The MAGA obsession with IQ, aside from being bizarre and self-defeating, is most indicative of its base (not based) juvenile and racist instincts.

I’d have follow up questions for the OP. On the one hand, I’m sympathetic to the argument that there’s unity in divine revelation. On the other hand, saying Jesus is the logos *because* (thing extrinsic to himself) gets odd. That may not be the intent of the OP—hence the follow up questions.

No, it was his clap back at a journalist for asking about Iran. Apparently the regime is executing ppl and Trump was like “tell that to the pope”

A screenshot of Meg Basham claiming that Trump has an instinct for exposing hypocrisy and religious sloganeering.

I mean, she’s right. But not in the way she thinks she is.

If we close our ears to God’s truth, we won't be able to hear the word of God’s help.

By this analogy, the good news of the gospel is the word of Trump and the power of his administration.

This is not Christian nationalism, nor is it civil religion; it's outright paganism wherein Trump is the god-king and his war is a holy war.

failed to achieve the idealogical goals they thought he'd bring about. These guys are committed to the program. And while disappointed, they will be looking for leadership for this next iteration.

MAGA may very well fizzle when Trump does. But AF may be far stickier.

This is the question. It's been my conviction for the past couple years that there is no replacement. MAGA is too personalist, and the base is too fragmented.

Furthermore—and this is the crucial piece—many of the die-hard America First ideologues I'm watching are getting FED UP with Trump. He's >

I get the economist angle ("look at this single metric it's all fine objectively") but the whole point of consumer sentiment is that it reveals normies aren't *feeling* that objective metric as a good thing.

Consistently amazing to me that the people most supportive of CN and Trump are

a) very critical of pastors and theologians speaking into politics ('stay in your lane!')

b) very fine with politicians speaking into religion.

A very, very weird appropriation and mutation of modernity.

One my goals is to have a presence that is inhospitable to nasty trolls. Not because I'm a jerk, but because I'm just not attractive to that kind. I don't always succeed, but it's my goal.

* this rant brought to you by watching an acquaintance get piled on for no reason by a notorious troll.

So here's the thing. I'm a firm believer that you're not entirely responsible for your followers' behavior on social media.

HOWEVER.

If you quote post something, and the ensuing flood of responses are all monstrous and they clearly gained traffic from your account...maybe you're the problem.
