Manipulating Engram Histone Acetylation Alters Memory Consolidation The epigenome provides the brain with a nucleus-templated form of plasticity that is of fundamental importance for learning and memory. Of the various types of epigenetic modifications, elevations in....

🚨 @lisawatt.bsky.social 's paper is out! We uncovered an epigenetic ‘swing’ that tunes how neuronal ensembles capture memories in the brain 🧬🛝🧠. A project that I co-supervised with @graeffjohannes.bsky.social. Kudos to all authors! onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...

I had the pleasure of being interviewed on RTS today about my recently published research - in my most adventurous French yet! Merci RTS for hosting! 🧬🧠📻👇🏾www.rts.ch/audio-podcast/2025/audio...

Unlocking the epigenetic secrets of memory - Nature Genetics The epigenetic underpinnings of memory are still poorly understood. A study provides a causal link between the epigenetic dynamics of a single genomic locus in engram cells and memory formation, achie...

Thrilled to see such a compelling and thoughtful commentary on our freshly published paper. By @mpi-psychiatry.bsky.social

Cell-type- and locus-specific epigenetic editing of memory expression - Nature Genetics CRISPR-based epigenetic editing is used in a cell-type-specific, locus-restricted and temporally controllable manner in the adult mouse brain to modulate memory expression.

🚨The paper from my postdoc in @graeffjohannes.bsky.social’s lab at @epfl-brainmind.bsky.social is out! We show that memories can be switched on and off by simply changing the « packaging » of DNA in neurons through epigenetic editing. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
