If you are not familiar with this man:
he likes to give out fresh juice he makes all the time, he volunteers to teach children to cook, he's the kind of guy that makes you feel better about your neighborhood.
Get a whistle. Get loud. Get organized.
Thwart these kidnappers at every turn.

Disgusting and Disturbing.
I got to talk to one of Allie's friends, who confirmed they used they/them pronouns. Allie was described as a strong human being with an incredibly distinctive personality and a great sense of humor.
The crowd here at the vigil did comply with SPD's request to get out of the road by 10pm.
The SPD supervisor who came out to talk with the crowd did say that someone approached them with potential camera footage from overnight specifically because they saw tonight's vigil.
Yes, maybe a raised hump across beacon would have helped one officer slow as well. I’m sure we’re blaming the sun or something.
Beacon Avenue in Hanford Street facing north highlights pedestrian islands
Beacon Avenue in Hanford facing south highlights the no pedestrian islands on the other side
They have an example just up the road of what Jason is suggesting too, it’s too bad the pedestrian crossings were largely left as is. Though they should probably move the signs to the island versus the sides and just have the arrow point at the bike lane and GP even there.
I visited Beacon Ave S and S Stevens Street this morning to understand why a street that was just rebuilt by SDOT can still have a tragedy occur.
couldn't agree more. there's nowhere in Seattle RRFBs are good replacement for a 4-way stop. I especially dislike them where greenway routes cross arterials. Drivers do not yield unless you aggressively step or roll into the road even with lights activated. and sometimes, they don't even stop.
💔 If anyone knows the family we would like to get in touch and offer a memorial and to fundraiser. Please get in touch at info@bhsafestreets.org.
We have put up a few flowers. 💐

"I have commuted by bike through the rough roads of Beacon Hill for a decade. Now that the project is complete, I get to experience another joy: watching groups of kids commute to school using the bike lanes. What a difference this makes for our community."

The Beacon Ave Safety Project (something @bhsafestreets.org advocated for years on) is under construction 🚧 right now in the heart of the Beacon Hill business district — consider visiting and supporting some of the small businesses! We did tonight for a #DateNightByBike 🍴🍲🍹
Welcome to LWB community input round ???.
Driver advocates think that they can cancel a project to build a few more speed humps on LWB.
Don't let them.

Rob Saka’s curb feud got more public process than some of these major budget changes.

As a middle-aged mom who wants to bike at non-racing speeds without being run over by cars, thank you SDOT!!!
Btw as your crews are there; east of Holly Park Dr S on Othello on the north side of the road one of the curb stops is significantly out of place 😁

Lime/Bird (bike & scooter share) are really great for connecting to things like Link Light Rail quickly but the cost just seems too high for daily use.
We use a piece of software that duplicates any Bsky post to Twitter and Mastodon within 5 minutes running locally. It also passes along Alt Text on photos and handles threading. It's been handy though there is that short lag time.
(excludes replies though to other people and I think reposts)
We've slightly updated our handle on BlueSky to verify ourselves. Instead of the usual "@bsky" username were now @bhsafestreets.org.
BlueSky's verification model relies on domain access of some type to validate your access to an organization's domain, theoretically proving legitimacy.
