The ICE3M seam a good idea but Renfe its studing It that posibility my humble opinion It will be a disaster since its reability and internal traction motors are totally diferent from the S103 there from Bombadier if im not wrong

Actually there not diching the certification of the S106 its just the roles of the S106 changed dramstly and France plans for the S106 dosent make more sence

Yes they did know. And It not dumb. Since the S100 was not gona be that profitable compared to the S106 due to the capacity. The 106 was the train that was justified paying the extornate track fees of SNCF Resau.
SNCF solution was Double decker Renfe was 3+2 due to operacional resions.
