“If you don’t make soldiers dig holes, they’ll start drinking instead. Same with geologists, actually.” @vjpsyverson.bsky.social commenting on, of all things, a pair of pants. 😻

i just woke up and my eyes aren’t fully working yet and i thought it said “car” not “cat” and was so confused
this is what we call “unencumbered by the thought process”
Presumably it’s a fairly short range “tactical” radar system and I think those have short wavelengths, but I’m not sure. I bet there’s somebody here who knows…
For certain types of drones it totally does help. That’s why roads near the front in Ukraine have those nets around them.
They do not.
People. Don’t tell each other loudly what you guesstimate is true about citizenship and immigration as though you actually knew anything about anything, please?
You are both wrong. Many noncitizens have actual social security numbers, not just ITINs. Legally and on purpose. Also citizenship isn’t required for a bank account.
I think the others were at different companies. Bosworth, for one.
Meh. I have medical equipment to carry, for one thing. And I’m fat so my clothes are big. 🤷♀️
May the second awokening proceed.
The US senate electoral system is seriously weird and atypical among the list of countries you mentioned.
I was expecting to look that up and find the Hungarian equivalent of Swedish fermented herring or something similarly hard to appreciate if you’re not used to it, but it’s… beef stew with paprika and bell pepper? Cheese Louise.
🇭🇺🗳️⚖️ Ngl, watching the various phases of denial/bargaining/acceptance by Orban's niu-conservative think tank base that he built on the Danube is fascinating. It's every possible reaction, from just going dark, through "A Maiden has Fallen" op-eds, to the last HU taxpayer-funded oysters and champagne.
did you ask them to apologize for prop 8?
Fun trivia: Karp paid a million bucks to a SuperPAC called “MAGA, Inc.” *after* the election.
Lieutenant Colonel IIRC.
Nope. Shyam Sankar did.

Also the entire country of the Netherlands, despite most of the housing being townhouses and small walkup buildings.
Now there’s a technological advancement.
Part of the right's war on education, especially the part that appeals to voters and not Douthatian perverts, is pretty explicitly about limiting kids' horizons and trapping them where they are.
she’s in germany?
It’s just a database jargon word borrowed from a library science jargon word borrowed ultimately from the philosophy word.
like toum?
i looked at french court memoirs, pliny the elder's historia naturalis, escoffier and carême, a newly published book of eighteenth century catalán recipes, and numerous swedish cookbooks for this essay
Maybe someone can make a viral TikTok with cursing about how everything is so full of corruption, I hear that works.
And I’m not just talking about the usual stuff where it’s just not illegal and you have to reform going forward. There’s stuff that’s blatantly illegal under current law and being tolerated because DOJ is a partisan clown show.
I want to hear politicians talking about cracking down on large scale public corruption. The reaction to billions literally being looted through a variety of schemes can’t just be “elect us and we will focus on the price of eggs.”
