🩵 could use support as still dealing with a lot of work/income loss. Still looking for more/other work. The loss over time hurts, especially with chronic health issues. tysm.

If you haven't seen it, can't recommend Asif Kapadia's documentary on this enough. Common memory will act like this was resolved neatly and the "good guys won". Those killers didn't just take 1 life, but wrecked many others. So many remain traumatised by this.

What we lost when we lost Self magazine The almost 50-year-old publication was a lifeline for chronically ill readers.

After Condé Nast's decision to close SELF, I spoke to chronically ill women about what the women's health site meant to them.

"We have to acknowledge chronic illness as a politically, culturally, and socially marginalized category"

The Mandelson fiasco reveals the true nature of Starmerism This is a prime minister who does not understand the difficult trade-offs involved in governing

Keir Starmer famously said there was "no such thing" as Starmerism. He was half-right: there is no such ideology. There is however an approach to managing and running the country that is core to so many of the government's difficulties that we probably should call 'Starmerism'. In tomorrow's paper:

That's one of the worst individual performances I've seen from any team in the PL this season. And that's a pretty high bar.

Hassan Ayman Herzallah | A Kilo of Flour My father called from the market to say he needed my help. It was the end of February. Tensions between Israel and Iran...

‘I went to a cash broker to convert the digital currency into money that I could spend. The commission was nearly 40 per cent. I came away with less than $84 in cash.’

Hassan Ayman Herzallah buys flour in Gaza, from the blog.

I Regret to Inform You All That The National League South is At It Again If you thought last season's absolute nonsense was a one-off, you're mistaken. The National League South is most definitely At It again.

Remembering The Greatest Merseyside Derby In History Forty-one years ago, Everton and Liverpool were the best sides in Europe. The Heysel ban and a television blackout meant very few people saw the finest match in ever played between these city rivals

More derby content. An extract from Two Tribes about the greatest derby ever. The Heysel ban and a television blackout meant hardly anyone saw it in September 1985. Some of us were lucky to be there. And later talk to the players about it open.substack.com/pub/tonyevan...

I know, they've been wretched. But with not much left to play for, for them standing in Arsenal's way is a lot of motivation. I know pretty much every club is Arsenal men's bete noire thes days, but Newcastle are more than most.

I think you're probably right. But Newcastle can put Arsenal in the dirt if they get points off them next week.

The health thing’s the big variable. All depends on how she goes for Gotham this season. But if playing as she can, she seems the obvious partner for Girma.

Been v impressed with Wesley’s start to the season. But Davidson gives you more aerial power? Also has a passing range the others don’t?

Thought Rodman's final ball wasn't great in the 1st half but that was an excellent assist from her.

Feels important to uplift Rep Pressley's leadership. She puts in a lot of work on issues that others often don't see as a priority. I've appreciated her anti-criminalization work over the years. She's a worker.

I have three court hearings to attend in three months. Two subjects of our reporting are suing us.

Journalism is threatened by abusive legal threats aimed at silencing reporting. The Government needs to #StopSLAPPs.
