I’ve been helping companies understand and implement these concepts for years now. I’m glad to see it’s finally making headway. I even developed a framework called the “Unified Voice for Accessibility Concerns” (UVAC) based on my work in this area:

Beyond Compliance: 5 Surprising Ways the UVAC Framework Turns Accessibility into a Brand Powerhouse

This year will be my first time attending, along with my colleagues from NCAM at @wgbh.org. I’m not entirely sure what to expect, but I’m told it’s geared towards leadership roles in accessibility. Your LinkedIn situation seems really freaking weird to me as well. Strange days have found us.
So accurate. I received one today via text for corporate vehicle salesperson!
That was your advice. It was my gut instinct as well.
I’m not sure if you recall me asking you about IAAP or other certifications when we worked together at Paciello Group, but I still appreciate your input on this subject. I am still not “certified” and I’m not sure that I ever will be (although it is currently being considered at #NCAM).
This is one of the most prevalent issues we find on client websites/apps during accessibility testing at NCAM (@wgbh.org). Autogenerated alt text is rarely, if ever, useful for the people who need images described using text in the first place.
Sounds amazing and delicious. I could use some of that right now!
Yep, exactly. The example I referenced was technically tabular data w/o any semantics whatsoever. “Divitus” of the worst kind too…
I report this violation frequently where the visual interface “groups” or visually relates content but fails to provide semantic structure. A recent example: structuring content to appear like tabular data using generic container elements styled to look like a table. No semantics or relationships. 🙄
Thank you! 😊

I’m excited and honored to step into my next role as an Accessibility SME with @wgbh.org next month! What an amazing opportunity and a truly fantastic way to start the new year. #AccessibilityIsNotAnOption #A11y
Absolutely. I often think of it as both an honor and an obligation. I get to do something that I’m passionate about and help others at the same time.
My reaction was similar. I’m glad that I left before the SEO nuts took over.
I’m going to assume that you’ve seen this gem from my former employer? 🙄

Sunset in Old Town Manassas, Virginia at Sinistral Brewing Company
First post, so howdy everyone! Thought I’d share the full size image from my header. It’s a beautiful sunset taken last Sunday in Old Town Manassas from a table at Sinistral Brewing Company. 🌅
