Trump might be oblivious, but I guarantee you that at least one person on his staff thinks it’s great that we killed all those civilians because “the Democrats will have to spend their next term cleaning up our mess, and that means we can get away with a *lot* of evil bullshit.”

Assuming some grand conspiracy where Putin’s pulling all the strings, it would seem that the conspirators are good at finding a way in, but less good at figuring out how to make it “stick.” Thank god for that.
One of the reasons Trumpism is (slowwwwly) collapsing - I’d argue - is that the only way to make America fascist was to appeal to our sense of independence and “don’t tell us what to do!”
And - hey - they pulled it off!
…except now we’re supposed to go have a war cuz another country said so.
This is rough news to hear. Eugene was one of those guys who hung out in both the rock and comedy scenes in Boston (he opened for The Dresden Dolls and freaking *killed*) which puts him in the friends-of-friends-of-friends category, but he was nice the time I met him. Wishing for his fast recovery.
That series really went downhill after Slaughterhouse Seven
This is accurate.
There’s a certain “CITIZEN KANE stars Orson Welles (Transformers: The Movie)…” energy about that fact…
This keeps coming across my feed, and - as a long-time fan of Ms. Sandifer (and former fan of Neil’s) - this is “Best Fan Writer at the Hugos”-level good. Can’t recommend it enough.
Can you imagine how long a human researcher would take to answer the question 'where is President Cleveland buried?', but Bing managed to come up with an answer in *microseconds*.
A cretinously wrong answer. But *microseconds*. THE RESEARCH GAME HAS CHANGED FOREVER.
The decline of right wing cultural production is just due to the fact that they don’t like culture, they like the signifiers of culture, ie “classic sculpture means white people are better.” They don’t like art at all except for this purpose. They don’t even like the nerd stuff they whine about
That’s correct. They’re different people.
You’re thinking of Jon Krasinski. John Gallagher is the same person as Jon Krasinski.
I'm sorry the guy changing the rules on the fly is named what
Blue Man Group was using “Last Train To Trancentral” to close out their shows at the time, and I thought it was the most epic piece of music anyone had ever created. (I was 16 and ushering at Boston theaters for free tickets)
Genuinely proud to have tracked that album down pre-internet.
I bought a dusty copy in 1996 at the “cool” record store a few years after they’d officially deleted their catalog.
The version I had came packaged with the “Justified and Ancient” single (the Tammy Wynette version.)
My K-Pop obsessed 6-year old genuinely likes it, which feels good.
Hugo eligibility post!
“The Cuddled Little Vice,” my book-length essay on the poison legacy of Sandman, is eligible for Best Related Work.
One time I picked the water icon and called my religion “Flow,” but I only did that once cuz i’m not cool enough for that i dunno…
Sometimes I mix things up, and pick the snake. In which case I call it “Hisssssssissssssm”
The most beautiful sentence in the English language is “Timbuktu has converted to Cheetara.”
I’m a “choose the lion-head icon and name my religion after one of the Thundercats” man myself…
trying to wrap my brain around how Bowie could possibly think his lyrics for “Life On Mars” weren’t any good
i mean, yes, fine, Mickey Mouse and cows and whatnot, but *we know what you were going for, David*
Post a pic of the venue where you saw your first concert and the band or artist.
Green Day at the Hatch Shell, Boston, MA. The infamous “Green Day riot” show, at the place the Boston Pops usually play.
It. Was. Awesome.
Good morning.
You are waking up to the irony of a convicted felon president, who spent years avoiding his own criminal trials, capturing the president of a sovereign nation and holding him captive for criminal trials.

Just tried to search for Trump’s name in the Epstein files library on the DOJ’s website. You’ll be *shocked* to learn that there’s no mention of him whatsoever!
He wasn’t shot. He didn’t win. He’s on the list.
“I was just following otters.”
Friends, I will happily sit in front of a green screen and say “want some ryyyye? ‘course ye do!” for ya.
…but how’s he gonna make Roko’s Basilisk happen *now*?
It's nearly impossible to make a living entertaining children in a sewer since Stephen king's "It"
