I have to admit I was already aged out of watching SpongeBob SquarePants when this episode originally aired.

But my younger colleagues told me to watch this clip.

Reminds me of Mo Salah a few years back before a penalty with everyone shouting at the ref and pushing each other and there's Mo, over near the spot, doing keepie-uppies with a bemused expression on his face, just waiting.

Almost everything we argue about is a substitute for the thing we should be arguing about: the immense wealth & power of an oligarchic class, which captures governments, ruins lives and wrecks the living planet.
This class redirects our rage at scapegoats. To resist its lies is to resist its power.

This is the moment that Ventrik has been waiting for: the chance to grab a sample of a creature he still doesn't quite understand (as most don't.) @blackeyeart.bsky.social had a lot to do to encompass this part of the script.

If journalists had any integrity and courage, they would boycott the White House Correspondents Dinner. It should be as empty as a TPUSA event.

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

Am concerned that he has the skill but not the physical capabilities (i.e. he looks brilliant in the slower pace of Bundesliga and international play, but not in what the PL has become.)

This is ALFA doing yeoman's work struggling with my quick transitions and dense action perspectives (e.g. when so much is happening in each panel.)

Ventrik and Tanya stand at the edge of a collapsed cityscape, looking down at the concentric layers below. A caption reflects that Tanya never made a sound as events unfolded.

The scene shifts back to the underground chamber where the creature fills the space. The walls crack and debris falls as the structure of the underground chamber begins to fail.

The ceiling of the chamber gives way. Silhouettes of armed figures and wights appear at an opening, suggesting activity on the level above as the collapse spreads.

In the next panel, one of the creature’s tendrils strikes upward, violently impacting a figure who smashes in the wall of the chamber. A second figure is struck by another tentacle and vaporizes.

The final panel returns to Ventrik observing a single tentacle trapped beneath debris, focused and composed as the destruction continues around him.

Separate systems have become one.

Read that again. This Louisiana bill forces homeless people to choose between jail and "treatment"—and if they can't pay for the latter, they will be forced to perform unpaid labor.

The historical precedents are clear: convict leasing, Black Codes, debtor's prison.

They read it as “Tax them into oblivion” and it’s really “tax them into a country club lifestyle with no financial worries.”

They are terrified they will join the merely 1%.

Both companies donated to Trump's 2024 campaign and inauguration committees.

Yeah, that's fair. I just keep seeing him perform in what has always seemed to be his perfect position (including last year) and wondering why Jones isn't on the pitch (i.e. someone who seems interested.)

Quite honestly, if Madrid walked in with a huge offer for him this summer, I would not be outraged if we took it. He's been wasting our time and his this whole season.

I suspect the Pope sounds "woke" to many Christian conservatives because the US is steeped in prosperity theology, where the point of worship is to deliver health and wealth to believers. Thus, "feed the hungry" and "show mercy for the poor" sounds needlessly political and "woke."

“Oh but Republicans would…”

Lemme stop you right there. I know that Republicans are okay voting for men accused of sexual assault. Republicans are also okay with voting for racists, child rapists, genocidal maniacs, and whatever the fuck pathology is a “Ted Cruz.”

So miss me with that argument.

People have been shocked that an AI company is offering chats with an AI Jesus for $1.99/minute but it's important to remember and respect the fact that a core part of American evangelicalism is being financially defrauded by people who claim to speak for god
