Him leaving the state was the best thing he ever did for us. The man is an unstable terror and the extremist religious framework he lives under tells him he has the right and authority to be so.

The youngest (15) is like, "tf did I do to get brought into this???" Nothing, for the record. The supposed adult in the situation is just lashing out.

His dad responded by listing out a bunch of things he blames both my kids for and saying he's not sorry about the Jesus stuff. Of course. 🙃🙃🙃 At least it's done now.

"Everything he says to me sounds like a suicide note" is one hell of a thing for a kid to have to manage and tiptoe around from someone who is essentially a volatile stranger. This shit is exhausting to deal with.

I am really proud of my son for recognizing the emotional manipulation and standing up for himself. It was a hard night. But he has shown more maturity and grace than his dad is even capable of. I hope his dad is able to listen. Or that this shakes him out of whatever doomchurch he's caught up in.
