Indiana isn't a red state, it's a purple state with a voter turnout problem. Hoosiers deserve balanced representation, and that's not what they'll get if our lawmakers cave to D.C. and go through with mid-decade redistricting. Call your elected officials TODAY to tell them: No new maps!

Join the Indiana Black Legislative Caucus at our rally against redistricting.
Last evening I accepted an award from IDAAC and dedicated it to my two mentors who are no longer here, Rep. William Crawford and Mr. Charles Redd from Fort Wayne. This organization has stood the test of time since 1972. It has history and has paved the way for so many.
A great turnout at the AES Indiana rate hike hearing in Pike Township, my district. It was clear people don't want an increase and they can't afford to pay more. Not a single person testified in support. My message was clear, DENY THE RATE INCREASE!

It was easy to stand up to save our democracy and our constitution today. Failed ideas, failed policies, a power grab, and greed will destroy our country. Stand with me and say no to redistricting in Indiana prior to the 2030 census.
Eight bills that take affect today. What also takes affect today is a $.01 (one cent) increase on each gallon of gas you pay at the pump.

Just because some are trying to erase, change and rewrite our history, doesn't mean the truth will not be told. Juneteenth is a day of celebration, but Black History is 24-7-365. We know, and we remember.
No, you're not hallucinating – AES wants to raise your rates again.

I filed eight bills this year. For more details on them, click this link. iga.in.gov/legislative/...
Indiana's new governor wasted no time letting minorities know what he thinks. His Executive Order makes clear his administration doesn't want diversity, doesn't think equality should happen, and inclusion is not welcome. This was his second day, and I am certain more will come.
Thank you, Rep. Vernon G Smith for honoring Dr. MLK during Session yesterday with our annual resolution.
Session started today.
