My Dad escaped the Nazis in 1939 on the Kindertransport.

This morning, the Covid Inquiry began hearings on the impact of the pandemic on young people.
Our thousands of members include parents who lost children and children who lost parents.
But the Inquiry has chosen to silence those voices by denying us core participant status.

Victim groups in other public inquiries have never been made to apply for core participant status module by module previously.
I am greatly concerned that there could be an ulterior motive for treating us in this way
Module with a lot of nuance about the various ways that the pandemic affected people. I am extremely concerned that the refusal to grant us core participant status will mean that key details will be overlooked and that the module will be biased to look at a certain viewpoint.
Participant status for this module and as a result, children that lost parents and other family members and parents that lost children will not be represented at the inquiry in the ways that we have endeavoured to represent people in previous modules.
