This is your semi-regular reminder that this website exists if you're fed up with people saying "but ChatGPT says..."
Warning @seranking.bsky.social is having problems with rank tracking today (just after the March Spam Update) that are causing some concerns - unecessarily because rankings are in fact fine. Rechecking, as shown in their tuto, seems to be correcting the problem

Oh, so an episode 105 has now appeared. With no regard to incrementality.
Problem with the link?
Its nice that you didn't throw @dannysullivan.bsky.social under the bus here. By my calculation, he talked so much in episode 102 that it became two episodes
What happened to episode 105? @johnmu.com @methode.bsky.social @divingfor.fun
It depends
But did you get the heads up about John's post from Mark or were you already on it ?
I'd be interested to know whether @rustybrick.com saw this before you or not. My experience is that he always gets there first (he says arriving 20 days late to the post)
I’ve long said this about Looker Studio dashboards vs manually compiled dashboards in Excel. I prefer the latter because, despite it‘s name, people tend not to looker at automatically generated ones
Those following the thread might be interested by the story of this happening from the doctors point of view. One of the many stories in Graham Chapman’s (Monty Python) bookwww.goodreads.com/book/show/486453.A_Liar_...
Early signs are that OpenAI hasn’t enough about what advertisers want (control and reporting on subjects where ads are shown). I think that they should consider becoming Google Ad Search partners and save themselves a lot of hassle
if drinking was an Olympic Sport, you could drink for Ireland!
Definitely way better than Google Alerts!
Google have been trying hard to win this for a few years!

By not launching it in France
Just to update on this, @johnmu.com very kindly looked into this and solved it for me. The French belgian pages were showing up on a URL without "www". As an example HREFLANG referenced www.mysite.be but the site also existed (and was indexed) as mysite.be
My faith in HREFLANG is restored ;-)
There's not a problem with 0 results. Pages from .fr domain are showing first, then pages from the .be domain. Ideally we don't want French users seeing the Belgian site in Google and HRFLANG has prevented this happening in the past. It may be specific to this one site. I'll check.
Hey @johnmu.com, is Google ignoring HREFLANG instructions? For an international client I am seeing links to French belgian pages showing up in searches from France with this explination. HREFLANG indicates that these pages are for fr-be audience only. Any similar experiences @aleyda.bsky.social ?
It is worth noting that Google hasn’t identified as a search engine for a long time. It calls itself an answer engine.
But I though the old acronym was dead🤔😉
Work or personal? Or both?
Great job on that article. Enriching and inspiring
