A black and white gouache portrait study painted on a white background with two thin black stripes behind the head at ear level
The portrait is of a man in a newsboy style cap with large oval rimmed glassed and a fantastically dramatic handlebar mustache and a little bit of an under the lip goatee. The hair under his cap is short and trimmed. He wears a loosely knotted black neck tie with a dark gray and black paisley vest and just the hint of a white collared shirt underneath.

almost all except for two sketches are one and then two minute gesture drawings using the @trueref.bsky.social gesture tool although the other two aren’t far from it. i had the timer paused on those though so i’m not entirely certain how long they took.

eventually. i have so many ongoing projects but i’m relieved to have this study practice when i just need something immediate to do to focus on skill building and honing craft.

landscape studies are from a few photos of hikes and park days in the pnw from over the years. going through all my old photos i’m starting to think maybe i need to actually do something with them. these were meant to be quick so i may do more and then turn a few of these into trading card paintings

i’m sorry that happens. that sucks. the way being public increases our accessibility is always a very real vulnerability. i do think about that a lot.

A young trans girl of about 8 wearing a fuzzy unicorn hat and a trans flag as a cape along with her gym clothes ( A t-shirt, gym shorts, knee high socks, and tennis shoes.) stands holding a soccer ball while surrounded by a wide array of her teammates, gathered around her to show support, with the closest girls each laying a hand on her shoulders affirming that she belongs with them.

Big block letters at the top of the poster reads:

TRANS KIDS
BELONG

Then more block letters reading:

EVERYWHERE

All in black and white digital ink.

A black and white inked illustration that reads:
PLANT
REVOLUTIONARY
JOY
With “PLANT” above ground in a field of grass and wild flowers with three large oak trees in the background.
Underneath a thin stratum of dirt we see a deeper more intricate layer of earth cut away to reveal the root system underground overlayed by and intertwined with “REVOLUTIONARY JOY”, with PLANT and JOY mostly in large open block letters, except for the A in PLANT, which is fashioned to resemble a solid anarchist “A” in the center of the design. A seed bursts open and grows out of the O in JOY as well, blossoming into a flower above ground while simultaneously spreading it’s roots. There are four more seeds sprouting and going through the germination process all around it.

A digital ink drawing of an enby femme in a bed piled with quilts and blankets and books, an ipad strewn near the foot of the bed and a binder and a few notebooks closer to where they sit at the head of the bed in a cushy nest surrounded by pillows, reading a book titled “WE SEE IT ALL” by Jon Fasman. They look tired and stressed out. A coffee cup is on the windowsill behind them.

An inked poster reads "Rise Up" and "RESIST It's our only hope", showing several people of different ethnicities and backgrounds marching with raised fists, a spectrum of socially-minded signs behind them in a city where trees grow out of broken windows.

A few of my more political digital ink illustrations over the last few years. I have previously made a few of these available as coloring book pages as well as open to free use for protests, distributing, and wheat pasting. I may do so again soon. I will be sure to link to the files here when I do.

a black and white digital ink drawing over green pencil of a group of protesters in masks and hats and keffiyehs linking arms to block rapid response scum and a cop from gathering folks stuff into an open rapid respond truck in the background already full of garbage bags and trash cans and a mattress.

in the far background a shocked bystander is filming the whole thing. in the foreground another protester in a hoodie and knit cap with a mask is handing an older woman in a knit cap and space blanket and mitts a hot cup of coffee. the patch on the back of one protesters jackets reads WE TAKE CARE OF US as she and the others stand arm in arm.

a work in progress sketch page of several femmes, with the three outer figures near the corners and edges showing an Asian woman in a tank top with a sweater or hoodie tied over ripped jeans wielding a sword, with her depicted with both a sword and a knife in the full-figure pose where the sword is slung over her left shoulder while her right hand holds a knife with pink and thumb while her other three fingers are splayed on the ground to steady her as she moves from kneeling to lunge position. these is also a large mid-figure with her holding the grip of the sword more deliberately over one shoulder while she looks over the other shoulder. this drawing is left unfinished in the layout phase. the final pose is a closeup showing her propping herself up using the sword to look uo determinedly. the character in the middle of the canvas is a Black woman with an afro that is half drawn in and a half drawn in varsity jacket over a knited and frayed sweater over a shirt. she has her thumbs in her pockets of the jacket and are pulling them out in such a way that adds flow to the overall form and drawing. she also wears a tattered skirt over junco jeans that are all still in a faded layout pencil stage.
the signature reads LW 12-29 2025

The Salvation Army is not a charity. They are an evangelical church that uses donated money to actively oppress gay rights. They've been especially cruel to trans people.

It's that giving time of year again, so this is a reminder that no matter how they try to dress it up, the Salvation Army is not a charity.

seattle (+ greater seattle area) should prepare to protect our somali community too. we have about 30,000 folks from there and you know they're chomping at the bit to punish us for being so against him

“We are more than stories. We are land. We are family. We are community. And we deserve a future where our identities are not commodities, where our truths are not distorted for profit or prestige and where accountability is measured not by words but by actions that build trust and repair harm.“

cbg gummy ftw!
i might be a tad stoned later.
studio folks already have very little to worry about. i’ve been without glasses for almost a year now. if they do attend the talk i won’t even be able to see or recognize them unless we’re up close and personal so if they leave me alone we’ll all be fine

if i had to describe my mood today tho, despite painful period cramps, it would be “bemused”. i sure ain’t bothered.. just along for the ride today, come what may.

i is in pain but lunch with the Quakers was good and i still has a free cookie that was given to me earlier while vending.

4 months ago 0 0 0 0

considering i am having heavy period cramps i might get a weed gummy to help with pain levels today which will at least also make me super chilled out at the talk tonight. still have plenty for a book, maybe both books and a cup of tea… we’ll see 👀

When I emailed Wilson’s office with my concerns in October, they responded with boilerplate talking points that suggested I was wrong to question how they are failing to provide the services people actually need and want.

These shelters are not providing adequate food, disrespecting trans folks, failing to treat residents in need, and potentially erecting more barriers to finding housing.
