If it was a person on the other end of the conversation, what would the answer be?

More good news in Wisco!
In Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, two local families had their rural wells go completely, permanently dry and are not having to spend thousands to dig in the hopes of hitting more water. Like, what are we even doing here anymore?
What, me worry?
There are folks in both categories that I trust, but all make the occasional stinker. A great actor can be the cherry on an otherwise shit pie. Great directors can become victims of their own style and tropes. If the story looks good, I'm game. Sometimes people I underestimate surprise me.
While the wind up certainly breeds a bit of anxiety, deleting accounts and apps provides a pretty solid boost of dopamine, even relief. It's especially satisfying when there is a bit of conscience behind it.
It's just software. Surely, we can relearn how to live without it.
When you get home, do you generally keep it in your pocket or in reach? If so, give it a home. Whittle down to only the necessary communicative notifications (people, not apps), but otherwise leave it alone. It works wonders.
I didn't watch it either, but I'm confident I could have told you what it was about regardless. From the quick reads, zero surprises were had that day.
While I understand why privately held AI companies want to monopolize seemingly every aspect of our lives, the obvious answer being the accumulation and consolidation of wealth, what continues to perplex me is why regular people so eager to go along with it and relinquish those parts.
LLMs engaging in blackmail and malicious acts makes sense when you consider that the content and data gluttons of big tech have been mixing everything from facts to fiction, opinion pieces, science docs and screenplays like a kid doing shots and drugs for the first time. Expect some consequences.
I certainly find uses for it, this being one. I'm also fascinated by the illusion and our tendency to humanize. LLMs don't think, but I ask them opinion questions. I don't thank Google sheets for doing math, but I say please and thank you in a chat bot session. It's funny in a way. Realities...
Interesting observations. I'd be curious to explore the original texts that these answers were cribbed from to see if and how accurately the software was able to pull and reproduce the original authors intent. I'm sure there are unexplored nuggets in there.
While I disagree with his equating of MAGA to Angel films or more trad Cons/R's/Christians, my issue with MAGA art is that it's largely built on grievance or a reaction to The Left™, making it feel empty, slapdash & more like a momentary fit or rage bait instead than anything with lasting impact.
I happened upon it in real time and was glad that I caught it. It would have been nice to have the subtitles presented by default as it was a message that deserved to be heard, so I hope venues that presented the game had them set where available.
When additional votes are tallied, they do tend to change the numbers.
Must be one helluva tribute band. 😏
Yes. This. I've never understand the thinking behind this...like, I get it, but removing yourself from being able to monitor the wrongdoing and allowing a sycophant in your place feels self-defeating.
Amazon has spent over $70M on Melania Trump’s Eva Braun “documentary” while also laying off 16,000 workers. These are choices. So is how you buy stuff. Vote with your wallet.
A long Facebook post from years ago talking about how much it sucks to be Harriet Winslow.
If he buys WB, he will just create another failing company. The output at Paramount under his lead has been abysmal. Being rich doesn't mean you have taste.
Remember: If we allow ourselves to fall into fatalism, or wallow in disappointment, or become resigned to what is rather than what should be, we will lose the long game.
The greatest enemy of positive social change is cynicism about what can be changed.
I'd always had an inkling and it had come up before, but filed it away and tried my best to mitigate using my own reading. Similarly, it wasn't until having a session with a therapist who asked, "Have you ever considered exploring ADHD?", completely unprompted, that I came back to it again. 😅
Oh good. Well, I hope you find a resolution. It's something that I've been journeying through as well as a 40-something whose always known, but with a similarly long road to actualization. If you are being as persistent as you seem, you'll get there. Good luck!
Are you working through a primary doctor or a psychiatrist/therapist? Consulting the latter may be more helpful.
